This is my favorite Dean song. Nobody can sing this but Dean martin.I can't listen to Dean without thinking of my Mom and when I got her tickets to see Dean perform in person. Right before she left I bought her flowers to give to Dean. The usher said she had to give them to Dean herself. During the show, she had to give them to Dean and when she did, he kissed her. When she went back to her seat she kissed my Dad and said the only man she had ever loved kissed her. She never thanked me for the tickets I bought her or the flowers.
Rest in peace Amy, you left us too soon.
I remember doing the Twist on stage at the sixpenny rush on a Saturday morning , a competition before the film started , the prize was a ice cream , I didnt get it . I was about 9 at the time and i was with some friends from school who cheered me on ,Oh, the memories this song brings back. growing up I went to dances every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. When this song came out we weren't allowed to dance to it, I still don't understand why they played it if we couldn't dance to it. A lot of the boys would form a circle so the ones who wanted to dance to it wouldn't be seen.
