What are you the champion of?

This is the second time that I have posted a youtube link and somebody was unable to view it from another country. What I can do, which seemed to work last time is put the URL here with spaces in it so you can cut and paste and remove the spaces. Without the spaces, this site will just resolve it to the actual video again, which you apparently can't see. No worries, since there are videos that we can't see in the US, especially those of songs by the The Eagles in many, but not all, cases.

I hope this works for you if you remove the two space" after the "//" and after the "/".

By the way, I have been to Wales, once to Hay-On-Wye. It was great fun browsing all those book stores. I was in England as an engineer on a contract for the British Air Force and everybody said we just had to see this place. I loved those narrow winding streets and all those bookstores!

Thanks..it’s that pesky geo blocking.I’ll put a VPN on if necessary.

I realize that various countries block various youtube videos for various reasons ( the use of "various" several times was on purpose). However, when somebody posts that s/he can't see a video I linked in my post, I will provide the URL just so the person can try that to make sure it is not some problem with reading my post in this forum. I don't expect the URL to work any better, but feel it is worth a try.

Oh well...

When I was working full time, we referred to a "champion" as somebody who made sure a particular thing was attended to properly. As an example, when continuous process improvement was all the rage, there was a "champion" of this idea, whose responsibility was making sure we all conformed to its policies. In this usage, a champion is a good thing, and those "champions" were acting for the good of the company, bringing new ideas and technologies into our workflow.

I suppose in comic books and the like, a champion is the person who saves the world from the evil monsters, spirits, or whatever. Maybe that is what general culture sees. Of course, there is also the "champion" we see in the sports world too.

Honestly, I can't say that I am particularly a champion of or for anything right now. I have had the role of "champion" in my work as I was tasked to bring some new technology into our work flow from time to time. However, I am retired at this point. I did things for the community prior to COVID-19 and will continue to do so when the library system "opens up" again sometime in the future. But I don't consider that being any sort of champion. There are many volunteers who do a variety of things, and I am but one of many in that capacity.

It is...the link took me to a full page of videos....one of them was probably what you posted.:)
Sometimes, because it happens to all of us,a different version of the video isn’t blocked.Which makes no sense-but VPNs usually solve the issue.

That makes sense because if your VPN is like mine, I can choose a country to connect to a server in. If I choose a country in which the video isn't blocked, I can see it. In any case, I provide the URL when folks have trouble seeing the video so they can choose other means to view it.

Don't lose any sleep over it Tony, we all understand,
today I had a whole site blocked because they didn't
trade with us, probably because of Brexit, so it had to
be a European site.

I'm not losing sleep over it. Software engineering has been my career since before the internet. I have been involved with the internet since around 1985 when most people had never heard of it yet.

When somebody isn't able to see a video I post here, I figure that if I provide the URL, then those folks can do what they need to see the video if they really want to. In truth, they can get the URL from my post without me providing it by simply right clicking on the video embed and selecting to copy the URL and then paste it to another tab in their browser.

😳I was champion as a "Spelling Bee" for 6 years in a row.

I won an award for "Reading at University Level" at age 8.

I'd came in first (Gold badge) in Phys ed, but due to a complaining Diva, I gave it to her so she would shut up and took hers (Bronze badge).

My one and only figure skating competition, I went out first (nerve wrecking) there was 4 of us in category. I took 4th. However, found out that 2 judges didn't mention that they were related.

Big fiasco... However, they tried to restore my silver medal, but I'd had enough of their craziness by then, I just left and never looked back. Held my head high. It wasn't worth the drama they were causing. I just wanted exercise and grace plus flexibility.

I’m champion of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or maybe it’s at the right time. 😂 I’m good at starting up a fire and making cookies. Not sure about the champion part though.
