What are your OCD habits/qwerks?

I use to add the numbers on a license plate to get the total. Still do at times. Morning routine always the same. Bathroom, get dressed, come out and have a long cold drink of water, go sit in my lift chair, catch up on iPad games and forums, at 7:15 I get up and set up table for breakfast, eat, take meds and by then wife is up and I fix her breakfast, make
sure her meds are right and do her eyedrops. This routine has been going on for years. Exciting isn’t it?
At night I always check twice to make sure doors are locked.

I'll admit to three to start...
1) I never leave the bedroom for the day in the morning without making the bed first.
2) I always do the left foot first when putting on socks and/or shoes.
3) I always put on pants while standing up, no matter how much I may have to hop around to get it done. Doing it while seated seems like giving up to old age. :D
Me too, I always make the bed before doing anything else. It's efficiency!

If you put me into a place like an auditorium, theater, or doctor’s office that has floor or ceiling tiles and keep me waiting, I’ll start counting the blasted tiles, or wall patterns, for that matter. If the patterns are in a block or grid, multiplication will speed up my efforts. I don’t like it if there’s an uneven number of tiles…

OCD has to be in the genes. My mother would not only check a locked door, but check it the same number of times as years that she was married! She was married over 50 years, so this was very noticeable!

(Hurry up, Mother! Or develop a more discrete pathology…)

I always keep the books in my bookcase in alphabetical order,if I have more books by the same author, I put the 1st one published in first
My morning routine hasn't changed much, wake up& stretch, then do exercises for my knees, get up & dressed take my keys/cell phone as I take a early morning walk before I have breakfast. When the seasons change, its dark in the morning, I usually go out between 6am- 6:30 wearing my yellow reflector vest. This may change a bit now that I have move here to Canterbury Woods-Gates
I keep track of everything I spend each month, been doing this for yrs, basically pay everything with cash

Every morning starts the same way. I brush my teeth, go into the kitchen, and have 1/2 grapefruit or a glass of juice.

Then, I get on my phone and read messages, and join my family in the NY Times word games: Wordle, Connections, and Strands. And I play Words with Friends with one daughter. Then I go back to the rest of my breakfast.

I come to a full stop at a stop sign. I was pulled over once for "rolling a stop sign" and the lesson stuck.
Tommy: I see so many people rolling through a stop sign. When I was learning to drive 60 years ago, I can still remember the instructor telling me to" count to 3 once I've stopped, and then proceed to drive if the coast is clear". I've never forgotten it.

I had to think about this, but the only one that comes to mind is trivial and silly.

I do enjoy a packet of crisps (chips). When I open them, I always do so right-side up. That is, not having the label upside down.

My keys go into my pocket as part of getting dressed in the morning. I also have a small Swiss Army knife and a small pencil.

My wallet goes into my left front pocket, which is reportedly the hardest one for pick pockets.

Phone goes into right cargo pocket.
