What are your thoughts about Edward Snowden?

I don't know enough about what he discovered, or uncovered, or exposed, or whatever you want to call it, to have any opinion on this matter. And the OP mentioned global surveillance programs and highly classified information - which still tells me nothing. If Snowden was convinced that the government was doing something to harm the American people, I still don't know what it was. Sounds like a lot of hush-hush, secretive whispering, but where are the facts?

So, hmm, why were you looking for woman‘s panties? Just curious.
It's doesn't matter what you look up! Say, mouthwash, eyeglasses, wigs, cowboy holsters, eye patches, etc. They will track you. Big brother/sister is watching every thing you look up, every site you look into. That is just on the computer. If you buy "smart" TVs or smart speakers or "smart phones" then you are more closely watched. "Smart" phones are called smart because they track you even when they are off. If you enjoy living in a commercial dictatorship or a police state that is nice. I would rather not!

Hmm, I opt for the commercial dictatorship where, if lost, I can be found. While I believe Jesus always knows where to find me, I am not sure he will tell others. I have smart everything, compensates for my failing brain.

Sorry, Mr. Ed, I don't understand that answer either. What do I supposedly understand?
Basically Snowden revealed government surveillance on US and worldwide citizens under the pretense of combating terrorist. Private phone conversation and location software was used to record and identify private citizens with no criminal background or reason except because government had resources to do so. You don’t shoot because have a gun, you shoot if there is a threat to safety. Plain ordinary US citizens were and are not a threat to national security.
Snowden blue the whistle on government eavesdropping as an abuse of power and unjustified invasion of privacy.
