What Blood type do you have?

Both Hubby and I are the same blood type - A positive. We both carry the recessive O gene and our daughter is O+ so we cannot donate blood for her. That is why having a blood bank is so important and why we were both donors until mad cow disease reared its head. Because we had been to England they refused to take any more of our blood.

B+. I carry the recessive 0 gene and my son is 0+ In NJ you cannot donate blood if you are over 70 and of course if you are on certain medications. My son is in high demand for his platelets and he donates every 6 months.

I'm AB+.
For a science project in High School, I tested all the students and nobody was AB. I was disapointed by that and my teacher wisely asked if I had tested myself, and to test her too. Bingo..we both were AB+. It still amazes me that 128 students let me give them a painful finger poke for the testing in the name of High School science. Then again, I went to a remarkable private school.
I tried to donate blood when I was young but the veins in both arms blew up before it was over, and they took me off their lists forever.
All these years later, even common blood draws or IV's must be done on the tops of my hands. ouch..
