What Childhood Food do you Miss eating

Too many things to mention.

I think what I miss most are the dear old souls that prepared all of the holiday treats and everyday foods that I remember so fondly.

I also miss the bountiful amounts of food that we enjoyed.

These days most of my food is portion controlled and engineered to be low carb, low fat, etc… 😢

I used to love hot dogs with mustard and relish when I was a kid. It's not that I can't eat one, I don't think, but I don't because there are healthier things for me to eat which are just as good. Sort of.

I also miss bugles which were a corn chip type snack loaded with trans fat but since they took the trans fat out of everything I haven't eaten a one. Crackers and chips without trans fat may be healthier but they taste like crap.
The FDA banned artificial transfat. Natural transfat is not considered a health risk. In fact, it's beneficial. Necessary, actually.

Tunnel of fudge cake. Pillsbury quit making the frosting mix that was used in the batter and I have tried the "updated" recipes that I have found, but they are not the same.

My mom made delicious fluffy peach rice pudding which I will never have again. I don't know what happened to the recipe and even if I had it, I doubt it would turn out as good as she made it.

My mother made the best butter tarts in the world. Thank God my oldest sister has the recipe down pat.
My wife made the best carrot cake and sweetest icing for it I have ever had! She always knew what to make for my birthday.
My blood sugar is probably going nuts just talking about it.

My mother used to do a lot of canning - tomatoes, other veggies. Grape jelly using grapes from my grandfather's farm. Made for some good eatin' because the veggies were right out of our garden.

When I was a kid my dad would occasionally take us with him on his business trips. We would always stop at Howard Johnson's if there was one in the area and I would have a clam roll. The clams were sweet and fried and were served in a hot dog bun. They were delicious!

Also, my grandmother made a great peach cobbler with biscuits in it. Yum.

I love Amy's products, Walmart carries a few of their items.

I miss the homemade Banana ice cream that was made outside in a hand cranked ice cream maker with salt and ice chipped from a big block.
