For me:
Chewy...It's very easy to add, skip items or cancel my autoship orders and they always arrive on time (they're sent to my son's job). When I call, a human answers the phone after a maximum of 3 rings and all the reps are so pleasant, courteous and helpful.

Costco...obviously the prices are great, even better with their monthly sales. Making returns is hassle free and we have plenty of time to do it. Once I returned bag of mixed vegetables because they had been recalled. I was surprised that the customer service rep refunded me for the last three bags I had bought (two of which were not in the recall). If you buy something that goes on sale Costco will make a price adjustment for you (I think it's within two weeks now). Also, many of their items stay the same price. I've even see prices get reduced since they're committed to passing their savings on to we customers.

Magic Chef....I had an issue with my newly purchased Magic Chef microwave. The instructions were to cut the cord, take a photo of it and email the picture and they would send me another unit. They actually did that before receiving the picture, then refunded me anyway.

Koldfront...Received the countertop dishwasher with two dents in it. Koldfront also said to cut the cord and send them a photo. I had ordered from Amazon and had another unit on the way. Koldfront promptly credited me for the first one.

Amazon...Ordering is easy, using their hub(s) is very convenient since I don't have things delivered to our apartment. The hub we are currently using gives a 14 day window for pickup, unlike the previous where it had to be 3 days. Customer support will call back immediately when that service is requested and usually issues are resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

I like Chewy, too. I usually get the order the following day. I always see the delivery guy quietly sneaking the box of dog food up the front steps like he's scared he'll set off the horrific barking.

I've always found Spectrum cable people to be very nice on the phone and the young man who comes out to fix things is very sweet and doesn't seem to mind my dog helping him.

I agree with Chewy and Costco. Walmart has been good with shipping my items within a few days. My last order from Amazon took over a month to send me coffee and dog treats. I think that is unacceptable. Probably punishing me for not having their prime service.
Absolutely unacceptable, particularly considering those are two of the most essential items in my house!

Definitely Amazon. In the UK, if you want to return something, you don't even have to leave your home. You just let them know you want to return something, and it's collected at your door by the mailman. Mined, I rarely return anything.

Generally, I'd say the easiest ones are locally-based companies. Especially if one is a frequent customer or client, as DW and I are with several.

I've found the Apple computers company easy and pleasant to deal with, by phone, for support. I have to admit it's usually been easy with Amazon Canada (amazon.ca). I've made a couple of returns, and a complaint or two, and those have worked out okay. On the other hand, Amazon is a mega-system that has undermined the existence of a number of local retailers. Poof! gone. That reality has been chewed over in other threads.

I recently had an abysmal experience with the Intuit company, purveyors of the QuickBooks digital account-keeping system. Online, they have a quite concealed phone number to actually get to a human being to talk with. If you do connect, it becomes evident the company's method of problem solving is limited, rigid, and rather useless.

I used to use Chewy but there was a problem with fed x taking it to the wrong address so I now use Amazon for all my dog needs.

I like Amazon too. They are usually on time and I can order several items at once. They give refunds if your package is stolen or lost. That happened a few years back.

I go to CVS occasionally when I need something right away. They are very pleasant there.

Chewy like Amazon has their own delivery service ?

My Credit Union (Maybe being a member in good standing for almost 40yrs helps)
Amazon (Except lately they've gotten pretty greedy with prime charges and now a charge for ad free prime video)
Farmer's Dog (Human grade fresh dog food delivery with balanced recipes, guided by science, and driven by love)
... and mostly everyone else. I'm not too demanding or difficult to get along with ... most business days

USPS varies from area to area , here in Miami the packages go through a sorting house in Opa -locka where packages can take 2 weeks and I kid you not to move then they come here locally to Miami where concept of time / urgency is unheard of .

HONEST people so nothing disappears but I do not have the patience nor desire to wait a month for what Amazon does in 3 days and cheaper .

I loved ebay but USPS is killing them .

I have been having the same problem with Amazon. I recently had two or three orders that took over a month to get here. And when this happens they won't let me cancel the order so I can get whatever it is elsewhere. I don't have prime either and have also suspected they are trying to force the issue. If they would take the time to ask why, instead of trying to force it on me, it would be way more productive for them as well as me.

Orders from China and England have been getting to me more quickly than Amazon orders.

I like Verizon. I also am happy with Walmart and Home Depot. I think my location has a lot to do with the problems I have with the other companies and Walmart and Home Depot are used to accommodating customers in rural areas with different needs.

The only problem we have is with USPS and it has been ongoing for years. Packages lost, empty. This week a package dropped off the tracking. We shipped a replacement and now both are an track for delivery. Dealing with insurance claims takes a saint!!!

I mailed Mumsy's passport overnight and signature required. The local clerk told me to start tracking as it would not happen. It took a week and no signature.

My hobby is fish and even using over night delivery no way going to use USPS even if from house across the street , lol .

In UK you have British Killifish Association which has pretty much every type killie and they tell me as bad there so unless someone buys killifish eggs in damp moss which not all killiefish spawn like that , they no longer ship even local .

I never have any problems with Walmart online shopping. Other than that, I pretty much just shop locally.
I love going to Walmart's store, but hate ordering online. They wait until you pay to send you an email saying they're out of a certain item. Why can't they let you know before you check out? I've never had that problem with any other online retailer. Also, one has to be aware of the substitution box. I learned the inconvenient way to always check "no substitutions". I'd order and my son would pick up closest to his job. He finally told me not to order for pick up because for some reason it became a hassle. Now he just shops inside the store for me. He'll take me at my request, usually three times a year.

I don't think so NCS. As I said, the packages are delivered to my son's job so I never see who's making the delivery. But I believe it's Fed-ex (trying to remember what shipper I've seen on the labels).

I didn't think about listing my financial institutions in the OP, but I'll have to give credit to Schwab. Their website is so convenient for just about anything one has to take care of. When there is a need to speak to an agent, the calls go through quickly and the agents are pleasant, courteous and helpful. All those things, plus making it easier for my son after I'm gone, prompted me to transfer all my investments there.

I can also add Chase bank to the list. I've been a customer for decades. In the age of online banking, I hardly ever have to go into a branch and their website is very user friendly. Also...see my reply below to DebraMae about Amazon.

Over a month! That is unacceptable. Even when I didn't have Prime, I'd bunch my orders to get free shipping and I'd get them pretty quickly. I wonder if the problem has something to do with the area you live in. I wouldn't pay for Prime...I got it free a few years ago when I upgraded my MetroPCS plan and they've kept that perk. That being the case, I don't think I can add payment for ad free content.

I haven't trusted the USPS in years! Once they lost a package my step daughter paid extra for priority shipping. I kept checking when I picked up other packages. Nothing for over a month. I finally got it when the young lady who had waited on me before when I picked up a package that was too big for my PO Box remembered me and said she had found the package and put it away for me. I send packages or large envelopes through them with trepidation each time. Luckily I only need to do it every now and then.

Hey I had to laugh when I saw "Mumsy". My honorary daughter started calling me that about a year ago. Now my son does sometimes too. :)

I only shop from amazon when ordering online. I get nervous if they ship USPS because I can't be sure I'll get it.

But so far no problems getting things from amazon.

I used to buy DVDs from Barnes and Noble book sellers (in person at the store). But a couple that I bought had stickers on them like "40% Off!". But when I got home and read the receipt, it they only took 30% off. I didn't bother to get my money back but I stopped buying DVDs from them.

I do buy books occasionally. I mentioned to the cashier that I stopped buying DVDs there because of their false advertising and she said "Oh, was it DVDs? Yeah, they're like that."

No apology or offer to refund me some money if I brought it back.

I haven't gone there in quite some time now. I would order a book from amazon if I really wanted it nowadays.
