What concerts have you gone to ?

Too many...but I new when I'd had enough a few years ago..when Take That played their reunion tour, and DD got tickets, and we went to see them at the London O2. OMG even with my earplugs in, it was painful.... so no more rock or peop concets for me ay big venues...

The last one I went to was good it was Mike and the Mechanics, in a small town venue of about 500 people... the only problem with that was the seats had no lumbar support, and it nearly killed me to sit there.. I had to stand most of the concert...

In the 60's there weren't many concerts available in Alabama outside of Gospel.
But there was one radio station (WBAM the Big Bam) that sponsored a Summer Show for a couple of years.

First concert I saw at a Big Bam Summer Show, featured Herman's Hermits.
The undercard had Lou Christie among others I wish I could now recall.

In the very early 70's at college I saw Mac Davis, Linda Ronstadt, POCO and an all female band called Fanny.

Bunch of concerts throughout the rest of the 70's, mostly Southern Rock. All dang good concerts.

In the military and stationed on the West Coast in the 80's and 90's, saw Bob Dylan with the Grateful Dead in Oakland, Bruce Hornsby with the Grateful Dead in Monterey(?), and when Jerry Garcia wasn't playing with the Dead, he had other bands he played with that I saw in concert, mostly in San Francisco. Saw Bonnie Raitt at the Berkley Amphitheater and have forgotten who the undercard was but they were good too. Merle Haggard in Concord and wish I could remember who the famous female singer on the undercard was.

Haven't been to a concert in close to 30yrs now. WHOA !!! ... where does the time go

EDIT: Now that I think about it, think the last concert I saw was Duane Allman in Norfolk (Maybe in Portsmouth) Virginia when I was stationed there.

I just love listening to Symphony Orchestras. Especially those that play excerpts from the Ballet i.e. Romeo & Juliette, Spartacus, Swan Lake. I saw my son conducting an orchestra last year and this year he is coming to Sydney at Easter and will be conducting his orchestra playing, The Rite of Spring - Stravinsky, Ravel's - La Valse and Chausson - Poeme. It always brings tears to my eyes, and I feel so proud, like a rat with a gold tooth.

Great list Bella!

I attended a few rock concerts years ago. A couple that I remember well was seeing the Beatles, while I was in Europe, somewhere around 1963, before they became globally famous.
I am wildly envious!

Wow, my list is pretty short compared with the impressive lists others have posted:

David Bowie
Eric Clapton
The Who (twice)
Bob Dylan (twice)
Bo Diddley
Duran Duran
Billy Idol
Violent Femmes
Pete Seeger

I think that's it!

It wasn't exactly the same, but we've seen Motown: The Musical twice and the story and music have been fantastic!
I have no doubt Doug. I would have loved to have seen the show, but I no longer desire to go into NYC. It's too much of a hassle. I guess I can add Dr. K's Motown Revue to my list too. Although probably different from the play, they did Motown hits. We saw them at a dinner theater (actually the senior center took us there for a luncheon) and I enjoyed the show very much.

July and August is the Sun Valley Symphony season which has 3 - 5 free performances a week. Last year we had YoYo Ma, the cellist, play although that one was a fund raiser that we had to pay for. He barely survived the thunderstorm and the lawn was empty of people, even undercover it was brutal.

Some impressive lists above.

Notables for me, in no particular order:

Deep Purple
Ry Cooder
Jethro Tull
Sting
Lou Reed
Tedeshi -Trucks, seeing them again this summer, tickets in hand for Missoula, MT
Yes
Paul Simon - Central Park
Adrian Belew
Dave Matthews Band
Dave Matthews acoustic - West Point Military Academy

Greatest regret is not getting to see Bob Marley before he died.

I love Pink Floyd 💖 I listen to them and David Gilmore often! So relaxing and mellow 😎

I'm not a fan of the whole concept of 'Tribute Acts' but this evening we saw The 'Illegal Eagles' at The Grand Theatre in Lancaster. They were excellent! If you're in the UK and get the chance - see them!
