What country would you move to and why?

"Canada or New Zealand because in addition to how good I've heard both countries are, both or parts of both have areas that are far enough away from the Equator which will be essential with the worsening of global warming."

Are you sure you want to come to Canada, I'm in the Prairies and we are in a deep freeze, right now its -32C and with light wind even colder -44C. In the Eastern part its also cold and stormy, also quite cold and snowy in BC and the Northern Territories are even colder!. And in Summer it can get very hot too!

I thought NZ was pretty restrictive on immigration unless you have a select skill and are of a young working age or arrive with suitcases bulging with cash.

they are.... and if you move there as retirees you need to have an eye watering amount of money in the bank so you'll not be a drain on their Social Security ...which is the main reason I've never moved ..otherwise I would go now...

Fantasies, sheer fantasies... England, for the more tame rural areas, as a change & contrast to the wilds of Canada where I live. I might then go to London once or twice a year for cultural & culinary doses. (Yes, I speak a form of English, odd as it would sound to Londoners' ears.) I'd visit Holly while there.

Then there's Amsterdam, Copenhagen & Paris, which I've enjoyed on brief visits. Amsterdam & Paris quite expensive options, I'd suppose. There's Sweden. I stayed in a small city in the south... absolutely the best hotel buffet breakfast options I've experienced anywhere! Enjoyed that city, but not sure it would prove as fulfilling over the long stretch.

The country that I would move to no longer exists. My wife and I used to visit the US once, sometimes twice, a year. On one occasion, talking to my schoolfriend, a lady who had met a surgeon whilst he was in the UK, they married and she settled with him in Tennessee. Talking to her and her husband, it dawned on me that although we have crossed the pond to the US many times, in all those visits we had never been anywhere outside what was known as The Southern States.

Knowing my interest in the American civil war, I had read much on the subject, if it fascinates you J.F.Rhodes History of the American Civil War is an intense and dramatic read. I'm digressing, on this occasion we had been invited to the wedding anniversary of my schoolfriend. When we arrived at that celebration, I was introduced to their company as: "The President of The Confederate States of America",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
In Exile!

Times change and I have changed, my choice if I really had to leave the UK would be Ireland, it's as close as you can get to staying the same.

We have talked about a move to Guam.
Since it is a Territory of the US, Healthcare for us would continue with Medicare and Tricare For Life.
Access to the Military bases for our food and such.

The two times I spent time there, the people were friendly and I loved the food.
Rentals seem no more than what is being asked for here in Nashville.

But Number One is that I would be close again to the Pacific Ocean.

That would be a consideration, the winters (unless I could afford either coast but I bet those coastal areas are expensive just like here in the U.S.). But I don't think Canada's summers are any hotter than here; where I live, it's between 100 and 115F (37 and 46C) at least 6 months out of the year. And since the whole world is only going to get hotter and hotter, it'd make sense (and help with the winters too).

My cousin in NZ is a retired ENT surgeon and a proper gentleman of the old school variety. About 6 or 7 years ago he was talking about how the dairy industry had boomed and done so without any significant controls or regulations, he's an eloquent man and I'd never heard him drop the F Bomb. He was struggling for words when describing how big dairy had done a number on our water tables and eco-systems, after a pregnant pause he finally said, "THEY FCUKED IT UP".
To hear a 75 year old man swear for the first time was confronting for me, yes potty mouthed me...
