What did you get for Christmas ?

Got several Walmart gift cards that I requested. The office sent me several packs of Dr. Pepper and cokes. Also 2 large tins of butter cookies. I got about $600.00 in Walmart gift cards that I will buy groceries with. Santa was very good this year!

Great stuff for me! A Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Lamp; New Ear thingys for my phone; a new 2023 Mega Grid Calendar AND a beautiful crossbody honey brown leather bag, which I love! I knew my dil would notice my old one (which she also bought for me) was held together by a huge paper clip! I just knew it!

.... a new updated homemade collage of family/pets for my bookshelf ... a 'Winter Wishes' Bouquet for my dining table, and a gift food basket.
My doggy exchanged Christmas cards/treats with his favorite furry friends, and they got to play together on Christmas Eve day.

Refill oil for my reed diffusers- bitter orange scent. A bird feeder that you can set to release the seed periodically so you don’t have to fill the feeder everyday. A welcome flag for the front porch area. A cookbook (The Big Texas Cookbook). A Christmas decor ceramic piece of Santa in an old red truck. Some kitchen hot pads and glove. A picture book featuring my great nephew’s children, aged 3 and 5, and their activities during this year. Also a tin folk art piece from my neighbor.

I don't exactly celebrate Christmas, but I visited friends who do & brought food & coffee - my special coffee they love.
I gave some gifts to my dentist & doc.
Some friends gave me gift certificates for Starbucks & a few things from "Bath & Beauty Works."

What did I get for Christmas…..from my foster daughter, the grandkids, and partner.
Got a pair of thermal socks 🤔……looks like they’re mens socks…..they’re huge…..why socks……why not a $2 box of chocolates.
Got a 6” x 8” styro tray of 6 cookies, 6 squares……she didn’t make them……she got them at a bake sale…..the date on the saran wrap was December 15……they were very hard and dry……since I didn’t get them till yesterday when I dropped off their gifts last nite.

I’ve always told them not to spend money on me……would rather have pictures of the kids, have never got pics.
And they haven’t ever got me gifts, till this year, a pair of socks and old baking.

How ungrateful I am.

I don't want gifts, and I only gave two. The gifts I got, I gave myself. A few weeks ago, I bought new rugs for my kitchen, a teapot, a couple of tactical flashlights, and an alarm clock. This past week, I bought a new kitchen faucet assembly and one for my main bathroom, along with a lighted exhaust fan. I treated myself to two pounds of exotic single-origin chocolates, smoked salmon, a small wheel of smoked Gouda, a bottle of chocolate liqueur, and a farm-raised porterhouse steak, which I'll have on New Year's Eve. I got exactly what I wanted! 😊🙃😊

Yes I do the same thing. If I want it I get it, just for me but we do deserve now more than ever to have treats. I have steak in the freezer but saw lobster tails on sale this week. I think I do need that extra treat more than ever this year. Normally when they go on sale, I buy a box of 20 to share with DS and DIL but this year they have a limit of 4, however snow crab legs are also on sale. Looks like a seafood new year's to me. I shall be a dripping buttered mess on New Years eve.....

Best Xmas gift for me was a game of peek-a-boo with my just turned one year old granddaughter on zoom.
Some gifts are simply priceless. At the New Year's Eve function last night, we were invited to one of our friend's birthday party in February. It's going to be a grand affair in a large dance hall with a fifteen piece band. The invitation had a foot note: "no presents!" Remember, some gifts are priceless, so, finding out about the charity that the lady likes to support, we shall make a donation to that charity and slip a note to that effect inside her birthday card. No presents? I'm sure that a bottle of bubbly and a bouquet of flowers don't count!
