What do men talk about to each other?

I'll never forget, many years ago my husband at the time had spent the entire day out on a rowboat fishing with his brother. All day, more than 8 hours. These two men rarely spent time together. That evening I asked him how their day was, etc., "What did you guys talk about?". His response was "Nothing". How do you spend all day with your brother and not talk about anything? I remember thinking that if I were out on the lake in a boat with a woman we would know everything there ever was to know about each other by the end of the day.

Different things, anything......whatever comes into our heads.....things we've seen or heard, every day happenings, sport....jeez the list goes on. But my wife can outdo me easily.........she meets up every Wednesday with two friends for a coffee afternoon. The other Tuesday evening she was on the phone to one of them confirming for the next day.........approx an hour later she put the phone down. God knows what they spoke about the following day.

Many years ago I ended up dating a lady who had dated a friend of mine a few months earlier. We discovered that on the 3rd or 4th date. On the next date she asked me what my friend and I has said about her. I told her the truth, I never brought her up. She was shocked and could not believe we did not compare notes about her. She simply could not believe I chose not to mention her at all. She kept prodding me to tell her what we said about her. (Why would I bring her up? I am not interested in a “truple”, and what went on between her and my friend is none of my business. And what goes on between her and I is not his business. I don’t kiss and tell.)

She obviously thought I was deceiving her, and dropped me like a hot potato. In today’s lingo I was ghosted.👻

Among the guys I know, we talk about our recent projects & chores: keeping our water systems going, our ground fertile, domestic animal welfare, repairs & renovations on our places, maintaining gas-powered equipment. Also any recent incursions of wildlife (deer, raccoons, bears)?

We occasionally work out an exchange of services (for instance, welding for some fresh garlic). Mention of anything we've done for fun on the place (hobbies, etc) or off (local music, play, river boating, etc). Interesting programs on TV or Youtube, etc. If there's an upcoming local referendum or election, we may talk about that. One of my friends whom I see a lot likes to talk about his interest in pre-Egyption high civilizations.

My husband used to love sitting in on conversations when my friends use to drop in for a cuppa. He said he heard the best gossip. I asked him what his friends talk about when they met up at the swimming pool and he said they were too interested in looking at the women in bikinis and comparing notes. My sister said she was watching the workmen outside her office in their morning break, and one had a large piece of string
and each man was guessing the size of their waists. (you've gotta laugh).

Within an hour in my case!

Depends on who we're chewing the fat with.

I have a neighbor who's hobby is fish aquariums. He has a lot to say about it, and it's interesting.

I talk to my youngest grandson about astronomy, mostly, and to the older ones about their jobs, mostly.

My sons and I talk business, personal and work-related, and general home improvement.

My long-time buddies, Tony and Jerry and I, talk about good times we had in the old days, retirement, our marriages, and our kids...but mostly the good times we've had.

But that's me.

On another occasion in the pub, I heard another two young blokes talking......

"She stepped out of the taxi and her stilleto heal went right through the centre of a big dog turd making it look like a doughnut."

"Yeh I know, I saw it, but her friend also stepped in it making it look like a ribeye steak." 😊
