What do you all think of technology like this?

The "nano quadrotors" title threw me off - I was wondering what kind of magic these things were - artificial intelligence? Clone drones?

Then I watched another vid where the guy built one from a kit and stuck a small video camera on it. Basically for a few hundred dollars you can own your own spy drone!

I doubt I could find the link now, but I watched where one guy had a big one with a 4k HD video camera on it, and the films he made were amazing.

Nice post!

Pretty scary - I think something like this will be the next direction the government head in in terms of security.

I would guess that the military has had stuff like this for a while but keeps it under wraps. It's the miniaturization of everything that makes it possible and then people who just cannot stop themselves put the pieces together and come up with new ways to use it.

Overall I think it's very cool but who knows what ten years down the road will bring us in common use robotics.

Yes, in the SG-1 series the Replicators were a big part near the end I recall. Being from SE Florida and a former Bug Man, they reminded me of Fire Ants who will POUR out of their nest if disturbed and ready to sting!

I can just imagine an engineer making the first fly sized flying robot and as hi's testing it a coworker (who is so engrossed in his own project) picks up a book and squashes two years worth of work! Then the first engineer just starts crying.

Those nanobots are insane. I cannot believe technology has become so advanced. I wonder if these could be used for reconnaissance?

Heard on the news about teeny tiny flybots about the size of baby aspirin. Great book "Swarm" about nanobots taking over. Yikes!
