What do you consider a GOOD day?

For me, a good day is when I wake up after a good night's sleep and I don't get picked on as soon as I wake up,but that hasn't happened in years. First, my husband picks on me then he calls my daughter and complains about me and she calls me and starts complaining about how much he does for me and I had just gotten up.
That's terrible, Sassy, for you to get caught between the both of them firing at you. I'm so sorry to hear this.

What kind of trouble, won't start, flat tire or is it straight to call the tow truck to have it hauled to the repair shop. I hate it when I have car problems!!
It shakes when I start it, stalls in stop and go traffic, vibrates violently when I turn on the AC and the check engine light is on constantly. I went to a gas station right away and waited for a mechanic and spoke to him. He said he thought the engine was wet from all the rain we got. We got a year's worth of rain in two days. He never even checked under the hood to see if he was right! But he was wrong cuz here I am days later, and still it's not right and I cannot go anywhere. My life sucks out loud. o_O

That's awful. You're too nice Sassy.

Well, today is a wonderful day...after 2 weeks suffering with a bottom molar that I was happy to get a root canal done on...now, after one week I can eat without sharp electric pains jerking through my jaw. It was the worst tooth pain I ever had - spoiled, don't usually have much feeling in my teeth. Hub says I never knew how luckY I was until this time.

Thank you Lord...is a lovely day and I promise not to take it for granted - its "scary perfect".

Hope you all have A great PAIN FREE day, too!!

For me a good day includes any some times more than one of the following.
Waking up with relatively few aches/pains --often the case.
Accomplishing the tasks i've set a goal to do that day. This happens more often as i've learned to pace myself and not make extravagant demands on my body. In fact there is sometimes the bonus of doing a little something today that might of gone tomorrow's list, because it really didn't need that much time/energy and could get it out of the way.
Learning something new--most every day.
Spending time with our domestic critters--every day! My two grand cats are about 7. Annie, the ginger & white one who basically broke into our house and adopted us used to be resistant to shows of affection--she'd leave the room if we started petting her and talking sweet to her. But she was having trouble getting mats out of her backside near tail (she's a bit of chonk so has trouble reaching) i started brushing each morning--at first just to get mats out but now she waits for me on a windowsill and purrs as i pass. She hasn't had mats in over a month but she still asks for that daily attention from grandma. And now i can pet her anytime i pass her and she doesn't object. (Mellowing with age?)

Being able to observe wild critters. Almost every day, with weather being a factor. Hawks, Crows, Magpies, Rabbits, squirrels. At night sometimes deer, raccoons, skunks.

Enjoying night sky--again weather a factor, but even a moon peeking from behind clouds does my heart good. If i can see stars and planets, or Milky Way...YAY!

This is the problem Hols. With the check engine light on all the time, it could be a dozen things from a loose gas cap to a misfiring issue or even the ignition coil. I'm just surprised my auto service club expects ME to diagnose the problem myself and request the correct service from them. They've never done that before. I need my car everyday and I'm seriously stuck right now. Since I couldn't diagnose the problem myself, nothing got accomplished.

That sounds like it does need to go to the shop for a good check up. Last time I had it happen one of the connections to the battery broke. I had to have it towed in. Luckily, my shop is only a 1/2 mile away and I was able to walk to pick it up when it was repaired. Let's cross out fingers it is something minor and not an expensive repair.

This is too sad, @Sassycakes. I don't think I could survive under those circumstances.

I read a short story once about a woman who woke up one morning dead and nobody would let her move on. She kept telling her husband, her kids, her friends, etc., "I'm dead" and they'd say, "Well, let me tell you about the day I'VE had!"

Her husband would say, "Can you pick up the dry cleaning?" She'd say, "I can't....I'm dead, really I'm dead." and he'd reply, "OK, don't forget to make sure the vest is with my blue suit because they forgot it last time."

Her son would say, "You need to take me to the sporting goods store after school 'cause I need new soccer shoes." She'd insist, "I can't, I'm dead" and he'd say, "Oh, and can we stop at McDonald's afterward?"

You get the picture..... For the life of me, I can't remember how it ended but I'm sure she's still picking up the dry cleaning and taking the kids to the mall.

Went fishing with a couple of retired buddies, we didn't catch a lot of fish but we solved most of the world's problems and talked about why we're happy to be retired. Oh and we talked about women and why after sixty plus years of life we haven't figured them out yet. That's a good day.

Can you find a good "local shade tree mechanic"? Maybe ask your neighbors who they
recommend - time to get a decent second opinion, huh.
