What do you enjoy most, getting up, or going to bed?

I hate getting up in the morning. I'm a nightowl and the only thing that gets me up early in the morning is the call of nature......and I'm not referring to the songbirds, if you get my drift.....

That said.......if I HAVE to get up and going early, I'm quite capable of doing it with a minimum of moaning and groaning. I can function.

I've posted this a few times
But I love it so

Calling it The Second Sleep

It rocks so hard, I seldom miss it

Whenever I get up, (of which is usually abnormally early)
I make coffee
Get on the web (here alot)
Fuss a bit with the budget
Do some writing (I'm a word butcher)

get re-sleepy

then

stumble back to bed.....sweet beddy bye

It's the only sleep that comes calling with complete consciousness
softly drifting...drifting into sweet sweet slumber
snort myself awake.....open one eye.....turn the pillow
drift back....waaaay back

......drooling a river

I highly recommend it

I am not by any means a morning person. I am on my laptop late at night. The first alarm that is set on my iPhone is for 9:30am. I was horrified when a couple of my friends and former co-workers wanted to meet me for breakfast this morning at 8:30am. I actually stayed in a hotel near them so I could wake up at the latest possible hour. I made it with no problem, but my head was bobbing during our TV shows this evening.

I usually set my alarm for 10:00am. Now that I'm retired, this is my favorite saying from one of the famous supermodels from the 90's. :ROFLMAO:

Oh @dseag2 I am cut from the same cloth. I understand the challenge of trying to do anything before 10:00a at the earliest. I wish I could rise and shine at the crack of dawn but the truth is my brain just doesn't engage that early in the morning. And I feel sluggish throughout the day on those rare occasions when I do have to try to function in the early morning. The only exception is when I have to get up early to catch a flight. I can somehow manage that but that's probably because it's a passive thing. I just have to go through the motions. Thank God I'm not the one piloting the aircraft 😅

Yes, we are cut from the same cloth. My brain just doesn't engage early in the morning. Sometimes I will even feel a little "down" in the mornings, but I always know that by the afternoon I will be alert and happy.

I was lucky for many years because my company's headquarters was in Seattle so they were 2 hours behind. I was always on email until 8pm but I didn't need to be on again until 10am.

I agree with you re: flights. I didn't need to be coherent to make a flight. Most people in the airport didn't seem to be coherent anyway, so I fit right in. :ROFLMAO:

I am a biaphasic sleeper. Which means I have two phases of sleep in twenty four hours. When I wake up I am grateful but when crawl into bed it feels great. Nothing like sliding in between cool sheets in my own familiar and comfortable bed. I am usually asleep in five minutes. So I must say I enjoy going to sleep the most.

I like going to bed, I like having dreams, dreams that I can remember the next day and try to figure them out. Sometimes in my dreams I talk to dead relatives or friends, sometimes I talk to living relatives or friends. Sometimes I go to places where I was in the past and watch what is or was happening. Sometimes when I try to get up my body is stiff, and I try to move it, but I cannot. Then I realize that I am in the twilight zone where I am half awake and half asleep. So, I direct myself in my dream to do things like learn the knowledge of the universe, read books with information of the world and beyond, there is many more things that I do in my dreams. Then I wake up and remember parts of my dreams and cannot remember other parts like the books I read, and I try to remember what they said.

During the winter, I look forward to stretching out in a nice warm bed, with snuggly sheets and an electric blanket. During the summer, it's not the same, the dark hours are few and sleeping in broad daylight is difficult.
I'm a morning person, and it's frustrating having to creep about trying not to make a noise because everyone else is still asleep.

I like getting up as I’m most energetic then, and am a morning person who gets most of their worthwhile things for the day accomplished at that time. By the afternoon, the energy is declining, I’m feeling sleepy or overwhelmed, and things can be put off.

By the evening, I am as Homer wrote, “beginning to think kindly of my bed.” That Homer guy (not Simpson) had a way with words… 🙂

I used to be a morning person,, get the newspaper early, read it .
Then off to do whatever was on my mind.

Now its read news online , 5 or 6 sites,, then the daily funnies,, check out 3 forums.
By then the morning is half gone & its time to make lunch.

Bedtime rolls around,, I've been yawning,,off to bed I go..
Only to toss & turn as my brain thinks of things undone .
Or something I don't care to do,,like the 6 hour drive to our son's with an excitable dog.

Back up I get ,off to read myself asleep.

I think it's far preferable to be half in a coma when you hit the airport. It makes standing in lines, dealing with idiots and listening to outright lies ("Ladies and gentlemen, we're sorry for the delay but we will be boarding momentarily" <of course, the plane is still in Chicago but it will be taking off "momentarily">), and what's waiting for you on board (DYKWIA's, screaming babies and the 300-pound sumo wrestler who has all of his seat and half of yours).

Yep, give me a good coma any day......

If I had to pick one, I would say winding down at bedtime. I look forward to relaxing and going to sleep early.

But I also really enjoy getting up early, and going for a morning walk with my dog before the sun comes up
... mornings are the only time it's cool and breezy these days. It feels good.

I have a strange sleeping pattern too. If I don't start winding down by 9:30pm and go to bed by 10pm.... I lose my sleep. I started this pattern this year. It's horrible. I was given sleeping pills and did not like the effects; so, not going to take them.
I understand about losing sleep. I sometimes don't sleep right away. It doesn't bother me. I can stay in bed, wide awake for hours and think about things, and reflect on my life, etc. I'm ok with that. Sometimes I'll read a book until I feel sleepy. Never took sleeping pills and don't plan to. There's always a comforting thought that I can catch up on my sleep the next day (nap) if needed. I rarely have to.

I like both, going to bed between 11 and 12 pm each night, getting up in the morning depends on the weather for me, if it’s a cold, wet dreary day I stay put, having my breakfast, reading, going online, but if it’s sunny I’m up and out
