What do you enjoy the most, morning or afternoon nap, or no nap at all?

On occasion, I do nap for 30-45 mins, around 3:00 p.m. .. if I wake very early. Sometimes,
I don't nap, but read in bed instead.

I’ve come to love what I call ‘the 2nd sleep’

Wake around whenever AM

Stoke the stove

Go out to mark my territory

Make a short cup of coffee

Get on the web a bit…’til sleepy

Slog out to mark my territory again and shut off the genny

Amble back into the cabin t’ward the pillow top

Pull back the covers
….and drift into the sweetest of soft conscious slumber I’ve ever known

There…is….nothing….like….it

Tenderly waken, fully sleep sated, at precisely whenever AM or PM

It does shorten the day in winter, but we remain (heh) ‘on schedule’

This retirement gig really really rocks!

I love an afternoon nap but try not to take too many since I also sometimes suffer with insomnia. My favourite nap is during a rainstorm. The sound of the rain and thunder I find really soothing.

Also the darkness. When it's cloudy and/or raining out there are no chinks of blinding sunlight to ruin your sleep.

Max, my Chiweenie, and I, sack out on the couch after we eat lunch. Usually we'll watch TV for a bit, then snooze for about an hour, from around 2-3 PM. Tree work has a way of tiring you out, and I like my siestas.

A few years back I took a nap most every afternoon but lately I haven't been able to snooze. I wish I'd get back into the habit because as soon as I sit down in my recliner after dinner I fall asleep. I'm sure that contributes to my not sleeping at night.

I usually plop down in the recliner after Supper, and turn on the TV. I can usually stay awake while Wheel of Fortune is on, but then I doze off during the endless commercials, and generally get a good 30 to 45 minute nap.

I think naps are healthy. I like to use animals as an example, since they are not brainwashed by articles and stuff, and MOST animals nap mid-day. Since retiring I've gotten into the habit of having lunch while watching the half hour ''Bold and the Beautiful'' and after it's over I lay back on my recliner and take a nap. What bothers me is that I sleep too long, from 1 1/2 hours to rarely 4 hours. I wish I could just sleep 30-60 minutes. If I don't take a nap I am way too sleepy at night and go to bed at 8-9. I like to stay up until 11 or so.

I enjoy sleeping and I'm good at it!

I get up around 2:00 am and sometimes go back to bed for a second sleep around 6:00 am.

I also take an afternoon nap for a couple of hours each day.

I turn in around 8:00 pm.

My PCP says that my napping could be an indication of depression, I tell him to relax it's just an indication of my retirement! :):playful::eek:nthego:

I was never a 'nap person' until 15 yrs ago when I had partial knee surgery. When I was off from work for 3 months,I got into the habit of taking afternoon naps
After lunch I take a 10-15 min nap,it refreshes me,then I usually go take my last walk of the day{weather permitting}

Sometime a Saturday and/or Sunday nap around 3PM or so. Can depend on the weather outside as well as how tired we both are. Yesterday, we were both up at 5AM, went back to bed at 7AM, but I couldn't sleep and we wanted to hit our favorite breakfast restuarant before 9AM, so I got my wife up. Then, after doing numerous errands, we decided to take a nap at 3PM, before going to dinner later.

No naps during the week, Mon thru Fri, unless my wife has a day off/holiday. Then we might.

I rarely nap. I often feel groggy after taking a nap. There are some exceptions though and sometimes I can wake from a nap refreshed and ready to go, but that is very rare.

I’m a morning person and early riser, so I tend to get drowsy in the early afternoon and nap if there are no other demands on me and especially if the weather is bad. A “power nap” when possible tends to give me enough energy and alertness to get through the rest of the day...

Depending on how the day is going, or what the weather is like... But I can either nap in the afternoon or mornings... Like today it will be a morning nap after talking to the doctor... It's also funny, cuz when I say nap out loud... Carl hears me, and runs and jumps in the bed beside me... and he puts so much heat off, as he and Lennie did when they were puppies...

Soap Opera's come on from 12:30PM to 2PM..Thats when I nap unless weather permitting I am outside.
