Why the Church? Which one.I think I am leaning towards a "church" that is available 24/7 in some form not just sunday service? - a community that lives together and shares together and cares together. One day a week is easy peasy - anyone can do that but what about caring for your local community and each other almost 24/7 - some services available in the day for sure but some emergency teams - rotated weekly perhaps that can care for those members of the church who may be sick/disabled/ depressed/suicidal etc etc - the church imo should be a vibrant part of its member community not just for Sunday best??
The neighborliness of which you speak involved all of us, especially women who were the caregivers with no pay! I think the traditional family order is very important to society, and the homemaker is very, very important to society. She not only cared for everyone in the family, but also the neighbors who were injured, sick, very young or old.
That social order was promoted in secular books, including secular school books. I argue in favor of this. I live my life as though these values are very important and I joined others in changing state law to strengthen family and the grandparents tie to family.
Now please explain why you think an organization based on a myth that started in Sumer with a goddess who made a man and woman with mud and breathed life into them, is necessary?
