What do you keep your thermostat set at in the cooler months and Winter?

Now that I am living totally alone I am setting my thermostat lower. I have it set at 65 F at night or sleep time. During the day I set it for 69 or 70 F so far since it's gotten much cooler.

I still need to put plastic on the wall AC. When it gets to frigid temperatures I may turn the heat up some.

How about you?

Usually between 68 and 70 until it gets too cold. Once we get closer to zero and below I turn it to where I'm comfortable. I don't like to be too cold or too hot so I try to find a happy medium.

Here in Florida, right now, I have it set at 70 degrees. Same as the outside temperature.

When I was in the service, there were times when I either froze or sweated. Only when I was in San Diego or Hawaii was I comfortable.

I live in a mild climate, so I rarely turn on any heat. I DO run the AC when it gets hot.

Never higher than 68 daytime. 64-65 overnight. Well scratch that... the rare times that the temp nears 10 degrees or lower, I may put it up to 70.

I'm not very comfortable in Winter either. No matter what I do there's a draft along the floors especially when it gets colder and colder.and so I often turn the heat up then.

We have our thermostat set at 65, both summer and winter. It’s usually warmer than that in both winter and summer. We have a heat pump, wooden stove and electric baseboards.

I like to sleep in a cool room. My fan stays on year-round @ bedtime. It gets pretty cold in my bedroom in the winter, I just snuggle up under my comforter and I stay cozy. Not so much fun getting out of the bed in the morning in the wintertime. lol!!!

Comfortable is 78, the thermostat is set at that temperature year round.

Here in the UK I set mine to 20C, or 68F and leave it at that year round.

I live in an old building with live steam heat that is provided by the landlord.

The old boiler keeps things feeling fairly tropical on all but the coldest windy winter days.

I control the heat by opening and closing windows.

IMHO San Diego was just about perfect although I do remember freezing a few times while standing Mid-Watches on my moored ship during the Winter.

I have a programable thermostat so temp varies. Day time is 62F., evening (pre shower time) it kicks up to 65, than at 7:30 P.M. it drops to 56 for overnight.

That's why I have a very heavy, warm bathrobe beside my bed. And slippers too!

I used to crack open the window at night until I heard a fight between a cat and what sounded like a squirrel it scared the heck out of me! So I mostly keep it shut.

For heat, 66° pretty much day and night, but only when daytime temperatures dip to 65 or below. Right now it gets into the low 50s overnight but 75° during the day, so no need for heat or AC day or night. Over summer the AC is set at 77° sometimes a little warmer during the day. If we'll be out more than 2-3 hours, to not be wasteful we further lower the heat and raise the AC temps.

I get up before DH, so in winter when I first walk into the bathroom I turn on a plug in heater that's preset to 70°. That way we're not showering in a cold bathroom. To keep the room warm for him, I leave the heater on with door closed so it keeps the heat in.

I live in an old classic 1930s brownstone with steam heat. I just turn the knob at bottom. I never know what the temperature is unless I look at the thermometer on the wall. Besides, I keep a window cracked for fresh air 24/7, 365 days a year. Even when it's below zero.
