I love the discounts of course, I love being treated with respect as the matriarch. I love it when people think I'm 15 - 20 years younger than I am. Also the wisdom I've collected over the years (and can impart) as well as the freedom the retirement brings.

The same things I liked when I was young and just starting out, LOL!

Having a little money in my pocket, my own car, a place of my own, freedom to do what I want when I want, limited responsibilities, etc...

I love being retired.....finally! Also being in pretty good health and having a long-term loving spouse at my side.

LOL! Before I even opened the thread, my first and only thought was DISCOUNTS!

I like the fact that I can be grumpy, curt, ill tempered, hard to get along with and grouchy and folks just smile and shrug their shoulders and say, "he didn't mean it he's just old".

Hmmm, never mind......come to think of it I was grumpy, curt, ill tempered, hard to get along with and grouchy even when I was younger. :)

I like the freedom to do whatever I want, when I want...instead of having to live by some "corporate" schedule. If the weather is nice, I have ton's of outdoor projects to keep busy with, and if the weather turns bad, I have the computer, or we just go to the casino for the day. Staying active, and getting plenty of exercise keeps the calendar from getting filled with doctor visits, and makes for a decent retirement.

I still seem to stick to a schedule for cleaning my house, mealtime etc. but knowing in the back of my mind that I really don't have to,makes me happy. Sleeping late,oh how I love to sleep late!I love the senior discounts. Traveling across country with the hubby we got into all the national parks for free. I think they called it the Gold Card and I heard it isn't available anymore. Those parks can be pricey.

I don't mind it at all. It is what it is! Although sometimes I don't like being called "sweetie" by a younger person. I find it condescending to older people.

The only thing I like about being a Senior is that I am still alive , others aren't that lucky. To be fair what I don't like about being a Senior is that I spend more time at the Doctor's then any where else.:D
