What do you think is a reasonable time to answer doorbell?

I got rid of my land line a couple of years ago. I don't miss it at all. It was mainly being used by telemarketers and scammers, and I finally decided I had had enough of paying a hefty monthly bill to enable somebody else to peddle their product.

My cell phone serves the purpose just fine. Saves a bundle of money, and I get much less harassment. Also, over the years, people seem to be moving away from phone calls, and more into texting. Much less intrusive, you can communicate with single people or a group of people that way, and read/answer the message at your own convenience.

(Off the subject, I know, but somehow we seem to have veered off into cell phone country.)

These days the doorbell only rings for deliveries or a scheduled social visit with one of our kids.
I don't have a doorbell. I wish I did because I can't hear people knock at the back of the house. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing but...it hinders deliveries. LOL
