Remember those tiny black, square anis seed candies? They weren't sweet at all, they were practically pure anis, and mostly they were for curing bad breath. I loved those, but I forget what they were called.I seemed to be addicted to Black Jack at one time.
I bought them fairly recently so my 13yr-old grandson could taste candy from the old days. Problem was, they don't taste the same as they used to. That big burst of not-clearly-identifiable, neither-peanut-nor-orange flavor is gone. It's just a little spongy thing about the size of your grampa's thumb.I don't mind candy corn and circus peanuts (or at least, I don't hate it, but don't go out of my way to eat it. I don't think I've had either in decades)

Guess I'm the freak here - I LIKED circus peanuts. My grandmother used to give them to me when they were slightly stale - just a little hard on the outside but squishy on the inside. Always loved her and the candy. I like black AND red licorice. Also candy corn and Peeps (frozen or stale, not fresh).I never knew what they were called, but yeah
Those soft marshmallowy things that resembled peanuts
but tasted like ill flavored foam
Googled it
They've been around since the 1800s
Why????!!!
Never heard of these. The name enough would have been enough to put me off.The worst has to be Lard Bars and Lard Stars.
Years ago they had all of these random fats to dispose of and thought "Hey, we can mix this with sugar and optionally a little vanilla, whip it, then let it set. We'll tell them that it is 'white chocolate' because they're dumb."
Hmm I don't remember those.Remember those tiny black, square anis seed candies? They weren't sweet at all, they were practically pure anis, and mostly they were for curing bad breath. I loved those, but I forget what they were called.
They were called Sen-Sen.Hmm I don't remember those.
They were probably already stale, Carol. At least around here they're only sold at Easter. I think she took an idea from Murmurr's Mrs. Reinking.Peeps. They went stale so fast.
A lot of people like stale peeps. They were probably already stale, Carol. At least around here they're only sold at Easter. I think she took an idea from Murmurr's Mrs. Reinking.
Ah yes stale Peeps, love them! I open the package and put it on the fridge top and let them get very stale!Guess I'm the freak here - I LIKED circus peanuts. Don't like super sour candy like Warheads (remember those from the 90s?). And not a fan candy that sticks to my teeth like caramel, Swedish fish, Mike & Ikes, and other gummies.
Yup. Me, too!o
Werther's are good. Does that make me an old person?
Awful stuff, but my grandpa loved it.horehound candy![]()
I LOVE candy corn. I can eat an entire bag in a matter of a few hours.
Atomic fireballs. What's the worst candy ever?
A little box of raisins, popcorn balls or an apple, but I think the absolute WORST treat I ever received was a handful of loose potato chips thrown in my goodie bag. By the end of the night, they were just crumbs in the bottom. So bad I remember it to this day, however it was a really old woman and she probably didn't even know it was Halloween and had to grab something quick. What did you hate to get in your Halloween bag?
I remember those.Awful stuff, but my grandpa loved it.
They have a better mouth-feel.A lot of people like stale peeps.
