What electronics do you need or want?

I've been seeing a need /use for a tablet for quite some time. Rather than an Android tablet, I'm considering an iPad. I've had them before, I'd bought my wife one a couple years ago. I deserve it! Plus, have a small wad of cash reimbursement from my health benefit account. I'm off to shop on apple.com
They seem to last forever

well mine has only lasted 10 years lol
I have one that is from 2015, so it is getting close to that 10 year mark. It no longer does iOS updates, but it is on 16.7 iOS, so it should work with what I have on it for some time yet. What I did was take almost everything off of it and am now just using it as a drawing/artwork tablet, since it is one of the large 12.9” iPad Pro tablets.
It would still be fine for everything else, but the battery is starting to get tired and wears out faster than it did before; so it is now “living its best life” just for me to use with the Pigment and other artwork and photography apps.

If I were getting a new one, it would be the new iPad Air, because they are now in the 10.9” size, use the new Apple Pencil and are the most lightweight iPad version available. Both the Air 4 and Air 5 are great tablets.

Hearing aid for my left ear.

I would like a stable fast internet connection. We live in a rural area that does not have any service other than satellite. It almost grinds to a halt in the evenings when the traffic heats up.

Check to see if your area is serviced by CO-MO Connect. We have our electricity, TV, Phone and Internet all bundled under one plan. The service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. CO-MO is located in Tipton, and services a good portion of rural Mid-MO.

I'm getting an adapter to connect my two-year-old MacBook Pro directly to our wi-fi router by ethernet cable. For the purpose of more effective streaming from the MacBook to our Apple-TV unit. It bugs me that they haven't been putting much variety of ports on the new Mac laptops, just the tiny newer USB ports and an earphones jack.

Also I'd like a better storage-battery charger. I've got one that works, but it's a consumer unit I've had for 40 years and there are better ones. Same with my multimeter, which is analog... works, but digital ones are easier to read immediately.😎

I didn't really want to get deeper involved in Apple's universe(iCloud,AppStore, login failures, etc) silliness, but Apple really does manufacture the world's only decent tablet.
I would have already done a new iPad purchase, but what really bugs me is Apple's practice of offering ridiculously small internal drive(64GB) on the affordable model, trying to coax(push) you into spending another $200 on the model that has 256GB drive, which is still unrealistically tiny, by today's standards. You can get a 1TB(Terabyte) thumb drive for $67...just as an example of how affordable storage has become.

As I've stated, can't live without TV. Keeping mine until it goes out.

I'd love something small I could hold while in bed for example. I keep my laptop on a little desk hard wired. Not on wi-fi. It's too heavy to use in bed.

My friends remember that technology ages much more quickly than we do.
Technology and me are not comfortable together, my phone and computer might be something that The Romans left behind.

By the way, love that record player that you posted a photo of. My record player is a Wurlitzer Jukebox, called: "One More Time."

As per agreement with the wife, all my headphones are a must.
When music calls, I'm there...
As they change, I'm always upgrading.

Back when I was working, my multimeters/test equipment were a must.
Same thing; when they got better, I upgraded.

I tried your suggestion. We are in the boonies! :)
We’ve got good news and bad news.

Unfortunately, your address is not in an area that we plan to serve at this time; however, if we receive enough expressions of interest your area may become eligible in the future. The more people who register in your area, the more likely it will be that we can extend our fiber network to your area.

Go ahead and complete the form below. This does not obligate you for service, but will get you on our radar and let us keep you informed of changes to our construction plan.

I don't *need* anything. But I sure want some stuff.

more stuff for my PA system (microphones, outboard FX units, etc.)
a "fancy" coffee machine - the $$$$ kind
a new electric guitar (I have an entry level one that's just fine - but I lust after a Gibson Les Paul Studio)

Fill out the form. If they ever offer service in your area, sign up. They put fiber optics in our area 2 or 3 years ago. and we've got the best TV. Internet we've ever had.

I think I'd like one of those digital chips inserted into my brain that can link up with my computer...... as long as it's not a reject one that will have me walking around eratically shouting.... "We will exterminate, we will exterminate." 😊
