What exercise have you done today?

This morning was overcast and dreary again, so I decided to do an hour on the treadmill.
However part way through the sun was coming out woohoo! So I decided to finish outside.
I mostly walked and then slowly "ran" 6x 110 yards, the latter for the first time in 15 months.

My time was about 50 percent slower for only 1/3 as many, but this was good anyway, because it
was motivating, shows what needs to be done, and today was my 13th in a row of walking 3 miles.
I'm extremely thankful for each day of being able to do this.

Today it was a cool 16 degrees and very foggy. We went to the other side of the trail we walked last Friday which is 5 kilometres long.

We did half that trail then walked back. We
only met 2 other woman. They were older ladies with a labradoodle who just loved seeing our dogs.

There was a nice breeze off the ocean. It was foggy but clear enough to see Prince Edward Island. When it’s clearer I’ll take a picture.IMG_4630.jpegHere’s a picture of this pathway.

We figure this pathway used to be a railroad track for the trains . We spotted an old Dorry named ‘The Twirp.’ 🤣

There’s some nice scenery on this part of the trail also.

It was a nice walk and took us about an hour. Altogether this trail is 92 kilometres. We are going to walk as much of it as we can. We do our shopping on the way back to save on gas.

Wow. You’re running already. That was a goal for you. You must be proud. Thirteen day of walking 3 miles is really good. Even if I wanted to walk 3 miles everyday I’m not sure I could but it’s certainly a goal. How did it feel to run? Today I did a bit of jogging in between walking. In some ways it’s easier than walking. Hope you have a nice day John.

Thank you for your comments. You sure do have beautiful places to walk.
I wish there were some paths here like those lovely paths like you have to walk on.
The running two days ago felt slow for the first 4 of them, then the last 2 were faster.
They were good in the sense of me being able to do them, and to hopefully keep progressing.

Hamstring cramp today, man that sucked!

Heavy leg workout at the gym, plus 25 minutes of cardio, after I got home I went for a twenty mile bicycle ride. No big deal I thought. Then I was in the barn and had stretch up reaching for a shovel hanging on the wall and that was all it took, right hamstring started seizing. I've had worse but it was bad enough to make me whimper.

3 miles on the new out and back plus 2 small loops at half way route through the neighborhood.
There is almost no traffic on this route, except crossing a main street heading out and coming back.
However all the streets through the neighborhood were quite quiet and peaceful with very few cars.

This morning was beautiful, totally delightful nice and warm with the sun shining down.
After months of overcast mornings, it was 75 when I finished, and got up to 94 degrees at 11:30am.

Then I did 8' on the treadmill, alternating the minutes with running and walking at different speeds.

@oslooskar - I usually start from my house, and that Sawyer Camp Trail is a long ways away from here.

Another beautiful morning with 3 miles walking through the neighborhood.
I stopped halfway through to chat with a long time friend, who lost his wife just a month ago.
We were in the same class in high school here in 9th and 10th grade, before my family moved to Kansas.
Do you live in the same area that you grew up in?
