What exercise have you done today?

Do you live in the same area that you grew up in?
We moved around a lot. I lived here in 9th grade and the first few months of 10th grade, then came back
after graduating from high school in Kansas. After 3 years here attending the Community College and then
working, I moved to Los Angeles to increase my work history, then Seattle, Tucson, and LA again before moving
back here in 1987, and have been here since then. This is my favorite place of them all due to the moderate climate.

@PeppermintPatty - Kinesiology B.S., Exercise Science M.S., then changed and got into real estate.
Right, he has lived here all his life and has family here, including children, grand and great grand children.

That’s a lot of moving around. I guess your school pal is probably the one who didn’t move around.
What did you take in College?

Today was a shorter walk. It was only 2.3 kilometres. My husband and I have decided to take more shorter walks instead of less longer ones. Together we’ve decided that the 5 kilometre walks is too long for our older dog. The weather is perfect. 14 degrees Celsius with partial cloud.

We went up to mountain road. The scenery is beautiful and nobody else walks there which makes it perfect for us.

I’m so easily amused. Here’s a big patch of clover which I found beautiful.

What’s really cool about this road is that it has access to a fresh water lake. Some day I’d like to walk down to it with a canoe 🛶 and bring the dogs. I’d love to swim while my husband fishes. Last night he caught 22 trout but kept 3. Hes so modest. He claims it’s ALL luck.

This next picture shows the fresh water lake ( which is the closest body of water to us) and the salt water lake which is actually a big inlet off the Atlantic Ocean.

Here’s a better picture of the Atlantic Ocean from this mountain road. This is what you’re seeing but a few miles away.

This is the highest point of mountain road. The shadow is my husband. He looks like he’s got a block head but that’s because he’s wearing a hat. 😅

Here’s a question for all of you?
My husband put a step counter on my phone. It counts ALL the steps I take in a day.
Do you people include that in your total exercise for the day?

I have that app. Problem is, don't carry my phone around. Don't have my phone with me outside, usually, which is where I do most of my walking. Don't want my phone outside, though it would be safer for me if I did.

I'm old fashioned. I go out to escape from phones, etc.

Thats a bit of moving around. It’s good that you settled at a place that doesn’t get too hot or have extreme temperatures. Where we used to live in Ontario was a snow belt and tornado area. The temperatures didn’t get too high. I think the highest was maybe 35 degrees Celsius but the coldest - 42 degrees without windchill factor.

WOW! No wonder you know your stuff. A bachelor and master degree in sciences. Very good. That’s impressive. What type of work did you do? ( if you don’t mind me asking )
I got a bachelor degree in health science but not from a university. It still took me 4 to 5 years in total to finish it though. When finished I became a certified holistic nutritionist.

Some people live in the same area their whole life. I’m glad I moved around.

Thanks for answering my questions. Wasn’t kinesiology hard?

I went for another walk but just along the beach. It was probably a kilometre in total but the dogs love this walk and I took more photos so get ready to be photo bombed. 🤣

This is the road going down to the beach.

This is the beach and the ocean. It’s a very still ocean day. My husband said great for fishing except for the fact that he had us.

Another picture of the water. This is a nice swimming spot too.

This is a family of crabs.

Ok I’m kidding. There random shells I put together for the picture. lol

This is the hill we walk up

And that’s my mini walk for the day making it a total of 3,7 kilometres.

Yesterday 3 miles walking the new route again, then weeding and digging.

@PeppermintPatty - My work history is here. <--
The woman who taught kinesiology was organized and awesome.
She was full of information and presented it constantly throughout every class.
Thus I was constantly taking notes, and motivated to learn, so the class was not difficult for those reasons.

This morning I warmed up with 5' on the arc trainer from moderate to full speed.
Then I walked 3 miles through the neighborhood, and did more digging around the fruit trees.
I think warming up on the AT helped me to walk faster this morning, so I will endeavor to do that more often.

Very cool work history .
I found kinesiology difficult but a good teacher can make any subject enjoyable
Thanks John .

5:15am PDT now. Awake now in bed for last half hour as dawn now starting to lighten sky outside and local ravens squawking. Grabbed my smartphone that had been charging overnight next to me and noticed it was as still on the SF website. Top Newposts thread was that "to p or not to p" thread I've never opened. Just reading it was enough that after 5 minutes, had to get up to p. First exercise today!

Laying there in the dark, had been wondering about the long worrying dream I'd been in. Was actually jogging about a mile or so in a city repeatedly where someone had some of my important belongings in their VW bus like vehicle I kept looking for in parking lots.

So was wondering if all that running was making me tired. Yeah so mr dave was getting much exercise haha.

At the end, went into the person's office that was full of people about to leave for the weekend since it was 4:30pm Friday. But I could not recall the person's odd Desi nickname. (A morphing dream thing)

Yeah. So now I'm tired of all that exercise even though I just woke up. 🥴

Today was a misty rain day with lots of fog so a regular East Atlantic type day. We only walked 2.5 kilometres due to our dog. She seems to do better with short walks.

I don’t have many exciting pictures but did take some photos. This one is of a large lone tree that reminded me of Tom Thompson’s paintings from The Group of Seven. Canadian Artists.

Here’s a picture of a single deer. The deer here let you get really close to them. They seem to be used to people.

IMG_4710.jpeg

Here are wild blueberries. There’s also wild raspberries, blackberries and strawberries up here. It’s government owned land so we are allowed up here.
IMG_4705.jpeg

On the way back I picked some lupines which grow wild everywhere. They are so pretty too.

Have a nice day everyone.
