What exercise have you done today?

I certainly got my exercise yesterday! I donated 2 twin beds with frames and headboards to a local women's shelter. They were upstairs in the guest room just taking up valuable space, so I got all of it downstairs and out to the garage for them to be picked up. I'm 77 and here by myself so I took it slow but managed and was proud of myself :) I was glad to donate those beds. They were new and had not been slept in since we bought them in 2022 when we moved into this house. I also donated all the twin sheets I had. I was busy all day. Felt good :)

I love that feeling when you know you've really accomplished something all by yourself! 🙂

Well, I sat in a chair for almost 9 hours. And I used my fingers to type and clicked my mouse a lot. Burped, passed gas, peed ... ;)

Today we walked 2.5 kilometres again. Our older dog seems to be able to manage that walk perfectly fine. We are walking on a different part of the road each day. We want to see how far it goes.

Here is the road. We are the only ones using it. IMG_4715.jpeg
This is one of the highest points

Every 500 metres or so there are parking spots like this.

Here is a frog we found today in our new garden.

I wish I had copies of most of what you photograph @PeppermintPatty As it is, I stick with the one I copied and hung directly behind where I'm sitting now. I view it every day. I've titled it, too: "The Road I Am Not Afraid to Travel" Every day, it inspires me. (((Thanks)))

My pleasure. I shall keep adding photos of my walks for your viewing enjoyment. I like adding pictures.

Today we walked on the ‘walking trails’ and only did 2 1/2 kilometres. It seems like a good distance for our older dog. We are doing lots of gardening so she gets lots of exercise outside the house too. If I go out, she goes out.

I like the wooden bridges the township make over swampy areas

I love how this forest has beautiful’ground cover’ plants like ferns and these little white flowers that look like wild strawberries but they’re not.

There are plenty of handmade benches along the way in case you need a rest. IMG_4742.jpeg
It was a lovely walk. Afterwards we went and did our grocery shopping since we were in the area anyway.

Only 3.5 miles hiking. Stepped up to a brisk pace. I am going to have to start at 5:30am. 6am and it’s already pushing 80F. This time of year is always a challenge. Might need to go to the coast for a time.
Three and a half miles is pretty good in my book! (y)

I've done nothing so far today, but I took a lovely 30-minute bike ride down by the Missouri River yesterday. The trails are so pretty, but not as beautiful as the ones in the photos you posted, @PeppermintPatty.

I've been trying to get some walking in, but I've been having a persistent cramp-like pain in my right ankle and calf. I had to drop my health insurance a few months ago. Guess I'll stick to lower impact stuff for now, and I hope to pick insurance back up in open enrollment.

12 mile bike ride, and I saw this bird flying across the dry river bed. Not my picture of course. Summer Tanager. It was very red!
I occasionally and I mean very occasionally I see one. They are very strikingly red. A more shocking red than a cardinal.
