50 squats in the morning and then 80 (easier version) pushups with my hands on the kitchen island.
14, 273 mostly brisk steps so far today.....7:25 PM.
I do my push-ups against the kitchen sink. too, but I only do 15!
I did my 10 minutes of gentle slow stretches, then just housework and cleaning. I'm too achy with bad knees to do any more, certainly not anything strenuous - I think that would do me a mischief!
I just do ten minutes, also. My bad knees will let me do some things but I have to be very careful.

Up at 5m (even though we don't have to be) but, our morning workout is a sacred ritual. It all started 30 years ago...

We both worked and had to fit in one of the most important tasks of our day, the gym - it was never to be missed, not on my husband's watch 🏋️‍♂️ 💪 we worked out no matter what, and we still do!

The ritual goes a little something like this:

The dreaded alarm clock goes off and my fu...okay, I'll be nice...robot husband, who can wake up as though someone has pushed the ON button, attempts to wake me. He starts off gently slowly turning up the heat...

Went a little something like this: ⏰️...to me 🚨 ...went off, he shoots up like a spring (so annoying, took all my will not to punch him in the throat) I grasp the blanket for dear life and mumble some incoherent words at him...

After he insists that I "get up" (2 of my least favorite words) I throw some whining...possibly swear words at him and fight the urge not to drop kick him as he pulls the blanket off me- granted, I have adapted now, but this was the earlier days.

I move slowly looking for any opportunity to lay down for "5 more minutes...but my way to energetic Military 🪖 husband is still on me like a drill Sargent, I had to get moving... he would use the reverse psychology on me "okay, we'll I'm going" and walk away...and I knew the right thing to do was to get up and get moving.

☕☕️... ☕️ later we would walk to the gym in the cold 🥶...I would continue my whining and ask why we can't take the car shivering as I rant a bit ...you can imagine what my for better or worse drill Sargent husband responded.

We arrive being the only young people waiting at the door for the the employee to open it cursing🤬 wondering why they have to wait till the exact second...Ugh. The rest were retired wide awake people because they also couldn't break their daily ritual...or can't sleep...one or the other, or both. We always wondered why they were there being they are retired...now we know!

Our day ended with a long after work run, usually with our son. Where I would get him back, make him drink the healthiest weird green color smoothie and eat Super healthy food 😋

Moral of this story

This all paid off - every dreadful early morning, every single workout has kept both our mind and bodies in tip top shape- and ingrained the value of a healthy lifestyle in our kids.

Our motto "can't stop won't stop!" not till we're dead.

Nice home gym there. Tai chi, Qigong and yoga are in my practice as well. (y)
I've always enjoyed watching Tai Chi, it's beautiful movements that strengthen yet appear to relax you at the same time. In my early 40's I was offered free training certification to teach Qigong at the YMCA but turned it down- kinda regret that now. But, it's never too late!

Never too late, this is where I first trained to lead Taichi / Qigong: Tai Chi Easy™

Got the horses fed, which feeding means a custom mix of a ration balancer and whatever supplements each horse needs. It all gets mixed with water - hot water this time of year. The fellas are 28-ish and 30+ and are my last two, they don’t get thrown out to pasture and forgot about.

I checked their water tubs for dead bodies(rats, squirrels, etc) and to make sure the heaters were working. Opened the main gate to let them into the main pasture. It’s hunting season and even though we all try to keep an eye out, there are still nighttime nitwit city slicker poachers who have shot foals, and a cow some years back🤬🤬

Jockeyed 50# of ration balancer out of the car and put it away.

Yesterday I dumped an overfull 17CuFt dump cart of manure at the manure pile — no I do not compost.

Anybody who thinks “that ain’t nuthin’—- I could use some help😇😇

Imogene, your horses are lucky to have you exercising for them!

Ten minute work-out -- I do it everyday but Sunday.

I started exercising daily when I was about fifteen. At first it was all exercises cut from the women's magazines or the newspaper (remember Debbie Drake?,) next I added the Canadian Air Force exercises, and a few years after that I added 20 minutes of jumping rope per that new idea by Kenneth Cooper called "aerobics."

And so on, without fail, until I broke my leg a few years ago and had to cut out anything that really involved my left leg. I miss the longer work outs that had included those fun DVD's and ballet bar work, but I'm very grateful I can still do something!

I worked out a lot when I was young - mostly ego driven 😂. Remember Elaine Powers? I did that to get back in condition after my son was born. In my 30’s I had weight bench🙄🙄

It did not stop the disc deterioration , so I quit wasting my time. My horses keep me going, plain and simple. When I lay these two fellas to rest it will probably be the end of any exercising I get.

P.S. I was born in Geauga County😇😇

Me too … Chardon

Me too at Chardon!!!! In 1947!!

@Della I should remember Debbie Drake but I don’t. I should also remember the guy pictured underneath her picture but I don’t. She had that much sought after hour glass figure that I never quite achieved.

I did work out to Richard Simmons a lot. I had one or two of his tapes.

Joanie Gregains was on around 5:00 AM every weekday. I would try to do a few minutes with her before starting chores.
