Spent 22 minutes on elliptical and 20 minutes on exercise bike. I've gained some weight so I have to step up the calorie burn. Going for a walk with my wife and an old friend this afternoon.
Good for you! I've heard it said that elliptical time is the slowest increment of time in the universe.

I did my 12 minutes.

Son came home and said the doctor had a poster on the wall saying that exercising 75 minutes per week reduces the chance of heart disease by 18%! My 12 minutes times six days is 72 minutes. I need to add something in to make it 13 minutes a day.

All of you guys are doing great!

This morning I went for 22 minutes on treadmill (1.45 miles) and then did weights and abs. Will take a long walk later this afternoon.

I was really into my treadmill for a while but after using it for about four months I developed "Exercise Induced Vasculitis" often called "Disney Rash". So, my main exercise now is swimming one kilometer a day about six days a week.

Today I did 17 minutes each cycling and rowing (fast) then tried a stair climbing machine. It kicked my butt and I only made it for 8 minutes. Walked dogs with my daughter for 35 minutes later in the afternoon.

Realized I have not exercised even one measly time since the start of 2025. Think I took one decent length walk and that was it. Because it's too damn cold! I have no excuse for not putting on a YouTube video though. Threw out my exercise bike. Forgot why.

Hmmm. I like to fact check myself a couple days later.

Turns out that's 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise.

"The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend that adults get 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise per week. This can also be 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, or a combination of both."

I just saw this after adding a new exercise to get up to 13 minutes per day. Oh well. I might be able to work up to 150 minutes of moderate, but my vigorous days are over.

Weighed 202 this morning. Yesterday at the grocery store I saw that they had those Nathan's Jumbo Beef Hot Dogs on a Buy one, get one free sale. I partially restrained myself and only got one package because the store I go to (Publix) will still give you the same discount even if you only buy one. So I got them for 1/2 the usual price.

These were big suckers. Only 4 to a 12 ounce package. And a whopping 260 calories each. I told myself I would ration myself to only one a day but as soon as I got home that idea went right out the window. I binged ate all 4 of them. Hot dogs are to me like booze to an alcoholic. If they are in the house I will eat them until they are all gone. And they don't have to be those fancy Nathans All Beef Kosher ones either. Any hot dog will do. So I'm paying for it this morning.

This morning I did the full 2 miles on the nature trail but it's going to take a lot more than that to make my pennance.

I really need to be careful about my weight lest I get back to my all time high of 230 lbs. This was taken around Thanksgiving of 2010 when I was at that weight. As you can see I was quite portly.

I went down to Lake Monroe (which is actually a very wide area of the St. Johns River and walked for two miles.

The weather was superb. I met what was probably the biggest dog I've ever seen, said hi to a lot of people and chatted with a few and then went to the Saturday market.

I bought some beautiful Plant City strawberries that are as sweet as sugar. We're having strawberry shortcake tonight. Pound cake and whipped cream. Yum.

I found this guy and love his upbeat "happy". Did him 01/01 and again this morning. Plus walked 3 miles both days so far.
Have decided to do more variety each day; switch it up so I won't be bored.

I'll have to check that out!
