What gives you satisfaction?

One of my hobbies is digital art. People are kind enough to say they like my abstract pictures; of which I have sold quite a number. However, I get much more satisfaction creating one for free just to make the recipient happy. As my work is digital it can be sent by e-mail all over the world. It has been received by people in quite a number of countries including America and Australia.:)

Volunteering gives me great satisfaction because I am helping others. I teach English to immigrants and also price and shelf items at a Thrift Store whose proceeds go to the missions in a European country. The people I work with in both places are very friendly and enjoyable. I feel luck to be part of these two groups.

I cook and serve for the homeless , it makes me feel very good to chat to those folks and know I have done a little to make their lives more comfortable that day

I think feeding folks is the best thing anyone can do whether poor or rich, it is a blessing to be able to do it.

Like Robusta and Capt it satisfies me also when I do a job well done no matter how big or small. It also gives me satisfaction to make someone who really needs to smile, if it's an elderly person with many burdens on their shoulders or a young child who is sad for some reason. When their face lights up it warms my heart

Working for a Wheaten Terrier Rescue as an adoption and foster coordinator gives me great satisfaction. The thrill of finding a great home for a dog and a great dog for the adopter never gets old. I enjoy it so much.

Thanking people. I never realized how rewarding that is until recently. I usually said, "Thanks", but it was more a reflex thing, akin to "God Bless You". You know no thinking involved. I found out that if you stop, and actually mean it when you say, "thank you"; people feel better. We all depend on others. When someone does a good job, a heart felt "thank you" brightens their day.

I get satisfaction from being able to fix and maintain most everything...cars, appliances, etc., instead of having to call a repairman every time something acts up. If/when I can no longer do that, it will be my cue to start looking at moving to a senior center. I also take some pride in looking at how well our kids and grandkids are handling their lives.

What gives me satisfaction ?

Not that many years ago I'd have said, "a evening of drinking and dancing followed by making wild passionate love repeatedly till the wee hours of the morning" but now I'd reply with "a good bowel movement"........what happened, did I get old ? :(

Ike - That answer cracked me up. But it is important when you get old.

Every time that I make a safe landing. I have flown over 10,000,000 miles for United and I was fortunate enough to have never experienced having any bent metal, as we say in the business.

I would STILL say that! Especially the "wild passionate" part!
