What have you bought recently?

Um. I spent money. Bought two small wire wastepaper baskets from Dollar Tree. I use them to turn upside down on outdoor flower pots to keep the squirrels from digging in them when I've planted seeds.

Also bought two garden center gift cards because Kroger doubles fuel points on them. DD uses the fuel points when she buys gas at Kroger's fuel center.

When we go to the garden centers, I use the gift cards instead of cash.

So. I spent. Money.
But you spent it wisely!

Due to arrive tomorrow...

2 motion sensor lights ( different types).. one for the porch...

An Emerald Green Ipad cover

..and a Car boot organiser box..

that's the earliest delivery I've ever heard of...
This may be a new option - I'd never seen it before. Since we had plans yesterday, this was preferable to having the package setting outside my front door for several hours.

It's probably cheaper and more efficient for them to deliver during non-business hours. Very little traffic at 4 AM.

Well I never thought in my life I would be so excited to get one of these...

In truth I have a couple dotted around the house.. a pink floral one, and a silver and black..upstairs and downstairs for when my back goes out and I need help standing up.. but lately because the OA in my knees have got worse I'm finding it painful to get out of the car sometimes.. so I bought this beautiful green floral one... Oh god help me old age is overtaking this young body...:ROFLMAO:
It's a beauty, HD, but I'd expect nothing less from you.

Hoping you rarely need to use it. ❤️

ooo, I do love a good organizer! That one looks very nice.
yes I've got to say, I'm a sucker for organisers too.. everything in it's place etc.. However I've been very lax with the storage in the boot of my car.. always have just kept everything in a snap on lid box... so I'm getting more organised.. and getting something that weighs less too..

I've tried to do similarly with our car, but it's a bit of a struggle as my husband and I share a car and we're very different people. 🙃

lol...it's good thing I didn't share a car with my husband. He has a Maserati.. and it's immaculate..I mean eat your dinner off the floor, and every other part of it.. he doesn't carry anything at all in his Boot.. where I have everything in case of emergencies..lol

See, I'd have everything in case of emergencies + cleaning supplies, but in an organizer. ;)

The back of my SUV is lined with three laundry baskets. One contains a few reusable bags on top of a blanket, a sweater, and a full change of clothes (the unpredictability of IBS is such a joy - not). The others are empty and are used to contain purchases so they don't roll around in the back of my car.

Not being an organized human, "organizers" are wasted on me. Sure, I put everything in them just-so when I first get them, but never again.

You don't want to know what my car trunks looked like before I came up with the laundry basket concept back when my kids were little... 🤪

I like your laundry basket system. My son employs something similar with his actual laundry in his room and it works out well for him.

Same with my laundry room. Been doing it since my kids were tots. 4 different baskets that I fill according to type, then run a wash when one gets full.

DD replicated my system, then her BFF saw DD's and copied it. Always, always, always fold and hang as soon as the clothes are dry (Alexa reminds me). Usually put away immediately, but definitely before the next load of wash gets run.

Beautiful system. :)

She's been having trouble jumping up onto the couch and seems to show slowness (pain) when getting up after laying down. She's getting older. The medications will arrive tomorrow but the steps not until later in the week.

Also, thanks to @JustBonee, I'm going to make bone broth for my dog when I next go shopping.

DD has those steps for the dogs as well.. in truth she's had them for a long time because she's had a lot of dogs who eventually got old.. and now the last 3 are old.. 14 , 14, and 13...

All my stuff that I ordered ..listed above ^^ has arrived, it's like Christmas ... lots of carboard for the recycling.. . Got the organiser box assembled , and it's even better quality than I thought it would be.. and my Iphone cover is the exact matching green for my office wall.. (y)

I SHOULD have an earthquake kit in my car that includes bottled water and other emergency necessities, but backpacks and the like are invitations to thieves who imagine there are valuables within.
My husband built shelves that hold the baskets. Actually 5 baskets. The top one holds the used cleaning rags. They rate their own basket because I avoid using paper towels.
I also use rags rather than paper towels.
DH built a shelf so I have two baskets on top, two underneath:
Darks
Dish towels, hand towels and light/white tops
Socks, underwear, bath towels, and light colored bottoms
Rags

I wash sheets as soon as I change them out. When the kids lived here I had a 5th basket for sheets.

Earthquakes here unlike there, are not something that we have to be concerned about.. not that we don't get them but they're rare and minor...

In my boot I keep.. a tyre inflater.. a few general tools, (spanner, pliers , wheel nut remover, screwdriver )..An empty petrol cannister, jump leads.. a Paper roll.. A Container of Engine Oil, and bottle of screen-wash.. . A spare Brolly.. Fire extinigusher, spare flat sketchers to change into if I;ve been wearing high heels..a Tarp... and my insulated trolley bag on wheels..

Halfords-Coolbag-Trolley
...all but the latter will go into the organiser

Some of you may recall my $3600 purchase last month, paying to surround DS & DDIL's pool with secure fencing to help keep our toddler grandson safe. As I said at the time, I knew someone pretty well when his toddler granddaughter died in his pool during a Christmas gathering, and never forgot that tragedy - nor how easily it could have been prevented.

This happened nearby on Friday:

"Firefighters pulled 3-year-old twin boys from a swimming pool in the backyard of their home after both were found unresponsive midmorning on Friday, April 21, with one boy later dying at the hospital, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The boys were found in the pool at 10:34 a.m., said Brian Humphrey, an LAFD spokesman. Both were rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

Fire Capt. Erik Scott told reporters outside the home later Friday that one of the boys died after he was taken to the hospital.

“Our paramedics worked feverishly to provide every chance possible for these children,” Scott said of the fire response.

There was no update on the condition of the other boy, who was in critical condition when firefighters transported him.

Dispatchers who received the 911 call from the boys’ parents guided them through how to perform CPR while firefighters got there. Once the firefighters arrived, they provided advanced life support to the boys.

There was no immediate information about how the boys got into the pool. LAFD said a crisis response team from Mayor Karen Bass’ office also responded to the home."
