What have you bought recently?

You know how I always say that you have to spend to save - speculate to accumulate and all that? Well, last week I saw some lovely mugs but, decided to check the cup shelf first. Went back today and they had been reduced from £7.50 each to £1.49! I bought four so saved a whopping £24.04! The chap will be so impressed when he finds out. 😇

I might go back tomorrow and buy another two, thereby saving another £12.02! ;)

I've just realised my leather Ipad case is 9 years old.. I have an Ipad air 2 still in perfect condition, as is the case.. which was expensive, but it's brown (tan) leather and it's boring now.. ..I wanna buy another ( much cheaper) I pad case in a jazzy colour , so I;ve opted for the same shade of green that's on the wall in my office.. just to ring the changes..

Um. I spent money. Bought two small wire wastepaper baskets from Dollar Tree. I use them to turn upside down on outdoor flower pots to keep the squirrels from digging in them when I've planted seeds.

Also bought two garden center gift cards because Kroger doubles fuel points on them. DD uses the fuel points when she buys gas at Kroger's fuel center.

When we go to the garden centers, I use the gift cards instead of cash.

So. I spent. Money.

Went to Costco Business Center yesterday and managed to leave $169 behind. All food - mostly pantry and freezer restocking. A fair amount of their stock differs from regular Costco's, so I usually hit CBC every other month-ish.

I ordered a nonslip loofah-type mat for our RV. Despite the shower floor being slightly pebble-textured, it's still a little slippery. We'll try the mat in our master bath's shower first. If we like it, I'll order a couple more for the showers in the house.

Balance becomes a near universal problem as people get older and it would be arrogant to presume DH & I will be exceptions. Shower mats have been on my list of things to buy for a while.

Also ordered a tire tube for grandson's stroller because one of his tires went flat! (Never had that happen before.)

Funny thing - I ordered these at 12:30 PM yesterday and chose (free) overnight delivery between 4-8 AM. Woke up at 5 AM and it was already at my front gate! Their email said it was delivered at 4:18 AM!

that's the earliest delivery I've ever heard of...

I ordered a leather tote bag and a couple of small utility bags to use with it from Portland Leather Goods. Instead of carrying a typical purse lately I have used a wristlet zip around wallet that will also hold my iphone and that is all I take into stores. But, I found I needed/wanted to have other things available to me while out and about (folding umbrella, folding walking cane, ipad mini, etc.) that my current handbag would not accommodate. My plan is to have the tote bag in the car and just remove what I need when heading into a store.

Well I never thought in my life I would be so excited to get one of these...

In truth I have a couple dotted around the house.. a pink floral one, and a silver and black..upstairs and downstairs for when my back goes out and I need help standing up.. but lately because the OA in my knees have got worse I'm finding it painful to get out of the car sometimes.. so I bought this beautiful green floral one... Oh god help me old age is overtaking this young body...:ROFLMAO:
