What have you bought recently?

Brown shoe polish. It seems that shoe polish isn’t so common now. I looked in a few stores to find it.
we can get shoe polish no problems here... I use polish often. I like to have the scratch cover polish best

I suppose if it;s an area where there's more people wearing trainers, than polished shoes, then that might be the reason..

You might be better trying the shoe repair store.. our sell polish and cut keys...

The reason shoe polish is so hard to find is that people are inclined to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Why polish shoes when they get scuffed up when they can just go out and buy a new pair of shoes?

Today I spent $13 and change on a little bouquet of cut flowers in a 1-pint Mason jar for a lady at work who's celebrating her 60th birthday today. Money well spent because she's one of those Jills of all trades and mistress of them all. When I'm overwhelmed, she helps me.

I already had the ceramic holder and the coasters in the coffee table but they were lonely looking. So I used my Christmas gift card from the fair trade store and bought the basket and candle. The candle was one of a “literary-themed” set… though I’m not a big EA Poe fan, the combination of fragrances sounded right for my living room

@CinnamomSugar, Have you lit the candle yet? I'm so curious. I love cardamom.... in fact I grind a few pods with my coffee beans. Sandalwood is one of the most beautiful scents on earth. But Absinthe? What does it smell like? I imagine licorice. Hope not.

if you're buying a pair of shoes for £10 then it might make sense to throw them out if they're scuffed up.. but I think anyone who would be likely to buy £10 shoes are far more likely to be people who spend £100 on Named Trainers..

Oh I don’t know, @RadishRose I haven’t lit it. When I open the tin, it’s a nice/subtle fragrance. I didn’t notice any licorice smell. But I’ll light it later and let you know

I almost never burn candles or buy candles. When I get them as gifts I put them in bathrooms and leave them unlit, they give off a nice scent much as potpourri does.

Amazon rec'vd my order for a new heated mattress pad and a new pair of gold hoop earrings.
I'm surprised at how uncomfortable and cold it is to have to sleep w/out my h.m.p.

Glad I found the earrings, just couldn't seem to find them in my local stores.

me too.....I don't like them lit.. I fear I'll forget to blow them out, or that they'll cause deposits on the ceiling. Instead I use Soy wax melts... or electric diffusers which use aromatherapy oils

hahaha..Gigi.... God loves a trier.. :D...

Bought new Electric Can Opener... and a new toilet brush and holder... lets; hope I don't get them mixed up..

What brand is that electric can opener? @hollydolly

Let us know if you like this one, and if it's easy to use, or not.

I bought a non-electric Coffee Percolator. 😁 😊
It's a simple thing, and I managed to make coffee with it!😄
It's a type that someone might buy for a campfire, but I used it on the stove. 😉

Worked great!(y):)
Coffee was fine, and it was very entertaining, watching it perk, thru the glass knob on top! ☺️😀

When I first moved out of my parents' house, I bought a pyrex stovetop percolator. Watching the coffee magic happen was indeed entertaining. I haven't thought about that percolator in a very long time - thanks for tickling those 50 year old memory neurons.
