What have you bought recently?

Some Halloween decorations. We have the three grands in mid October for a few days. I got an idea that we can put up the Halloween decos, something that DH and I usually do right before the day. I'll make some Halloween treats and we'll have a little party.
It occurred to me our decorations are tired and not likely to scare a mouse so I found some things at Dollar tree. Skeleton arms to put under my life size ghost made from a sheet forty years ago. He has two felt black eyes and a scary smile. Now he'll have bony arms.....like me!
LED skeleton heads to stick in the ground, rubber bats, lots of bats, a sign. I bought some window clings at Lowes the other day. One big set for us and one each for them to take home along with a bat of their own.
That sounds so nice, @hearlady! I prefer the traditional Halloween decorations like the ones you mentioned. I recall going to the local pop-up Spirit stores with my kids a few years ago and being horrified: zombie babies and animals, all sorts of things dripping blood—yuck! Definitely not to my taste.

My three kids always loved Halloween, and we would have so much fun putting up decorations and getting the treats ready (we always filled those little paper sacks with an assortment of treats; it was so much fun!).

My older daughter is expecting twins in December and is already happily anticipating her kids' first Halloween, nearly a year later. I'm happy that she has happy memories of that time of year.

Enjoy the time with your grandchildren!

I bought a t-shirt in Mykonos for $44. And a travel mug in Crete for $33. Prices seemed astonishingly high on the Greek islands, but I guess maybe they have to charge a lot during tourist season in order to have money whatever time of year no one goes.
But I got a cup of coffee and a dish of ice cream in Istanbul for only $3.06.
that is very high..Up until 3 years ago when the o/h left we were regularly on the Greek Islands .it's usually very cheap..

The trouble with Istanbul..I presume you took the boat over... is the place is full of pickpockets so you have to be on your guard the whole time..

It feels like kept the economy functioning today. Lots of running around for groceries and farmers’ stands. Eye appointment and refilled my supplies while there. Walked to the thrift store to make donations. Window shopped and regular shopped along the way. Donated four items, left with three. Fueled myself with an almond croissant. Got home and realized I needed milk and bread. Out and about again.

DD had errands to run. She took me along in order to stop at garden center(s) for insecticidal soap for DGD and bulb food for me. First center didn't have either but had lots of Clarence plants that jumped into my cart and followed us home. Dianthus. Coreopsis. One of the coreopsis is red...who knew there are red ones?

We had to go to the other garden center for insecticidal soap and bulb food. While we were there, unbeknownst to me, some snapdragons jumped into my cart. Imagine my surprise when we got to the checkout ;)

I'm trying to create a new flower bed that DD can see from her side of the house and her patio and that I can see from my patio, too. They are all planted now and looking good so far.

Unfortunately, more money was spent than should have been💸💸💸

Other people spend their money on food and stuff. Flowers are a necessity, too.

Yet another trip to the garden center. I behaved well enough to still have a little $$ in my checking account. Now I have to behave more than well enough until payday, still a week and a half away. Darn.

DC Comics, Batmobile, 12-inch Batman Toy Car, Collectible Toys for Boys and Girls Ages 4+

Batmobile for second day of grandson's first grade. Wheel came off after one day. Bought at a store. Have receipt. Will return.

From TEMU: A bed skirt and a 3 PC queen quilt set - third one. Excellent quality so far. From Amazon: few things from my son's wishlist (surprise!) and some Javy coffee concentrate, trying it for the first time.
you know what's really interesting is if you copy the same thing from Temu into Amazon..it will be the exact same thing and will be 4 times the price !

Some things from Temu are rubbish but that doesn't mean they're not getting sold on Amazon as well and people being ripped off 4 times the price f

I've had a few good things from Temu.. especially the tools.. they've been as good quality as I can get anywhere... I would never buy any electrics tho'...

You're making a good point, Holly. I just added to the thread I started about a year ago concerning Amazon. Would you consider cross-posting to it?
Your feelings about Amazon?

Yes, my husband has been pleased with his purchases, mainly tools. I really love the clothes I've purchased. I've literally seen the same quality of women's clothing and jewelry on Chico's (used to buy a LOT there) for a 10th of the price. The bedding is a great buy, decent quality, washable, etc.

my experience of their clothing has not been positive.. but that said...I do buy leggings and crop leggings from them because they're really good quality, and cost less than £5 a pair... Every piece of jewellery I've bought has broken within days...one piece snapped as I took it out of it's packet.. so I don't buy clothing, shoes or jewellery from temu,.. and especially don't buy jewellery since watching the consumer programme

What people have to realise with Temu ... @Georgiagranny ..I'm really talking to you and anyone else whose not used to Temu ... is when you're new to the site to remember that this is not a shop this is a platform for millions of sellers.. so if you see something you like and want to buy... copy the description of the item and put it into the search bar of Temu... and search for lowest price... you'll be amazed at just how much money you can save that way.. (y)
remember you have to spend a minimum of £15... but then you get free postage.. and things do take about a week to arrive

So no clothes, shoes or jewelry and order about $20 in US dollars. Got it and thanks!

It might be $15 US.. it tells you on the site.. when you go to your cart or to checkout it will tell you how much ...

Please don't go with what I say about stuff.. I just have not had good experience with any of it... I would imagine tho'.. things that you wear like T-shirts, will be absolutely fine, like the leggings...

I haven't received them yet, but I've bought a couple items from Amazon that I hope will make life easier. I'm getting a pair of little furniture jacks which I hope will work to lift the treadmill so I can get the sliders out from under it, as well as lift the recliner a few inches so I can replace the defective foot/wheel with the replacement the chair people sent. I'm just not willing to risk my back anymore to try to lift furniture. Also bought a gadget that will hopefully help open pull top cans.

I also have the furniture jacks. I got them after I tried for over an hour using all sorts of gadgets to try and lift one end of my heavy leather sofa.. to slide the edge of the rug under. I'm not weakling but I just couldn't lift it... in the end my soon2Bex came here to collect some things, and I asked him if he could do it, and with one hand he picked up the end of the sofa like it was made of feathers

.I just thought can't go through that hassle again...and also your mention of the treadmill makes me realise that it will be the same with my treadmill if and when I move from here...

I'm going to be looking at an apartment at the end of this week ...and I have a lot of heavy furniture
