DGD is getting a little black cat pin that looks exactly like her cat, Alvin. She saw it in the jewelry store when we were in one day last month for her and DD to get their rings cleaned. It's kinda spendy, but she really liked it. Gotta go with something that will be well received.

DGS is getting...a mailbox. LOL The one in front of his house is so ratty and old that he'll probably get a letter from the post office soon telling him that it's too rickety to keep using and to replace it. He's getting one of those big ones, including the mounting post, because he has roommates who all get their mail there, too. Mailbox. Inspired, right? Might even give him some Quikcrete for sinking the post into.
sounds like great gifts to me. My DD is the hardest person to buy for... and she's not afraid to tell you. I don't know what's worse, accepting a gift you don;t care for , or handing it back immediately with 'not for me mum''..which is what she does. :(

In recent years I've just given her money.... but I hate that, I love Christmas and I want to give gifts and she's the only one left for me to buy for now...

When she worked for a huge corporate company as their International executive, she would get gifts from colleagues.. mainly jewellery, but often little sets like a winter cashmere scarf and hat..or a little watch or some perfumed lotions ..not hugely expensive but nice anyway.. and I would find them in her waste bin... she didn't even offer them to me.. she didn't like them so in the bin they went... :( I have to admit, much as I love my DD that's one side of her I don't like...

The 🦅 did his duty during the night so I got DGD's kitty pin and a mailbox for DGS, including the in-ground post. My bank account is somewhat lighter. Those are the only two "things" I'm giving as Christmas gifts. The rest of the Christmas "shopping" will be done at the money machine at the credit union.

The good news is that there was no co-pay for the follow-up appointment with the eye doc today, and I don't need glasses. Yippee.

A six pack of Dove for Men moisturizing facial soap. I always open soap to dry it out; it lasts longer that way. It may not last long as it’s sitting in a bowl and I can’t stand the sweet fragrance. I’m thinking of storing it outside.

Jues..I had to laugh out loud... if you can't stand the fragrance why not just buy fragrance free soap... ?:D

@RadishRose I like Spindrift. I discovered them at Trader Joe's years ago but they don't carry it anymore. My favorites were the watermelon and cucumber (sounds odd, it wasn't) but they don't make those flavors anymore that I can find. I like the blood orange and something also.

Well, it finally happened. Something else going out in this apartment and I don't want to ask for repairs. I think the stacking washer is making very strange noises when it agitates. To the laundry I will have to go which I hate. I went yesterday. I can still air or dryer dry here.

One thing I don't want to wash publicly is my kitchen cloths which I have a lot of, including flour sacks. And underwear. I noted this on Amazon when searching for something with a drain so I don't have to tip or lift a bucket or basin full of water.

There are some smaller. Main complaints were they are cracking but they are foldable and I'd just leave it open and put in the laundry closet.

No.
Eventually these bars will dry out and lose most of the scent. I’m probably extra fussy. I can barely walk down the laundry, soap or candy aisles. I hate artificial scents.
I don't know what people use in their laundry. I buy most of my clothes second hand. And I always notice the scents when I wash them from soap, softener, dryer sheets. Some or all? I use a natural unscented laundry soap.

Today I bought... a car wash & wax.......I spent £95 in Costco..on bulk buying mostly paper goods... ..but that also included an electric throw blanket.

I also spent £30 in the discount store buying a few odd and ends, and an Autumn Wreath for the front door... oh and also 4 new Coffee Mugs...

...and £35 in fuel....at Costco

Hey, it might chase away varmints outside. Or is that the intent? ;)

Not me. I even put that cherry air freshener can in my car! 🤪
A speak of the devil moment. After noticing a pine tree freshener in a car recently and commented that I didn’t know these still existed. Saw a couple more after that.

Do you use it because you’re a smoker?
