What have you bought recently?

No mega millions winnings. They let me down again :(

Frittered away $63 on a new Keurig to replace the one that died this morning. It might actually even get delivered today if Amazon isn't lying. Supposed to be here by 4. Drone, maybe? Won't it break if a drone just drops it?

A new toaster...red..... decided after all these years I don't need a 4 slice toaster... so I've bought a Retro 2 slice one...
I already have a red kettle so I didn't buy a matching one with the toaster

Today I bought a stuffed plush dog for one of my granddaughters, as she loves her "plushies". Her 9th birthday is today and we're celebrating tomorrow with dinner at Kobe, which is her favorite spot.

Unfortunately, she broke her arm earlier this week (luckily not the worst break that could happen, but she'll be in a cast for a while). I'm constructing a cast for one of the dog's legs tonight. I think she'll get a laugh out of it.

Her real present is some money. That's the preferred gift these days. She's saving up for spending money for a vacation in June.

There was some money left on a garden center gift card so I only spent $7.50 there to get stuff to start seed indoors.

Then I frittered away $2 on a gallon of milk (who needs milk when there are flowers?). Only need a little milk for my coffee, right? Then I frittered away another $3 on a mega millions ticket for tomorrow's drawing. It's time for me to win. Jussayin'

You will win one day!

This morning I placed a $36 Walmart order for parking lot pickup. All food. I need a few items now and the rest will restock low levels in my pantry. The order has to hit a $35 minimum to avoid the $6.99 service charge.

Going into WM overwhelms me. It's overly bright and loud, too chaotically laid out, and too crowded - especially the checkout lanes. The few times I've gone inside, my brain quickly shifted to sensory overload mode. I couldn't leave fast enough.

@Georgiagranny, I've noticed over the past few years that you've talked about a Kaiser Permanente's quarterly dollar allowance. Last fall I got a letter from them saying I was entitled to something or other each quarter, but truth be told, I had no idea what it was or how to use it. DH got the same letter.

Today I did some investigating. Turns out to only be for OTC medical type stuff, no food, and it has to be used through one of their sites. Wildly overpriced, but I had $90 to spend so what the heck. Bought some things I use anyway: COQ10, Turmeric, and bandaids. About $40 worth of stuff in the real world that came to $90 in KP's, but shipping is free so I'm $40 ahead of the game.

I probably would have blown this off entirely had it not been for your occasional comments about using yours. Thanks for that!

so your milk is half the price of ours. it's $2 for 4 pints here... £1.50...

Stopped in the thrift store to search for some houseware items. Found a new Oxo container with a suction lid. If I like it, I may buy more in a regular store. Decided to look for a shirt to wear with my pretty pink sweater. Found the perfect one and got home to find it was mislabelled. Took it back and spotted a dress for my GD’s wedding in September. I think it’s perfect for an outdoor wedding; I’ll double check with my DD.

Do you buy much online?

Do you prefer to shop in the brick & mortar stores...?

Did you recently get a great bargain, or feel you've paid too much for something ?

Come and share what you've bought in either ....

This week we bought a new Electric telescopic Pole tree saw.. .. which arrived today..alongside a gallon of oil for it..

Still waiting for half the order to arrive even tho' we paid for a specific date for delivery
I mostly shop for essentials now. If I splurge on something it’s usually for my pups.

I may buy a book, a puzzle, or rent a movie for entertainment when the budget allows.

Have a lot of Frank Sinatra songs on digital formats, so decided to get 'Wee Small Hours of the Morning'
on 12" Vinyl.
After recieving it, I waited for night to fall, grabbed a Scotch, headphones and listened from first to last track.

Nelson Riddle arrangements are powerful and add so much to the texture and mood of the album.
Frank's Phrasing is right on point and it ties it all together, like reading a novel.

A true concept album. Fits in nice with my Vinyl collection.

I bought something online 2 weeks ago.. and it wasn't what I thought it was, so I have to return it. However it can't be returned online, they say it can only be returned to one of their stores. The nearest one is a 40 mile round trip... so I have 30 days to return it.. I may take it today...

I am sitting here with a glass of wine and a case of sticker shock!
This morning it sounded like someone is running around in the attic. No, the hot water heater was sounding like it was about to explode, diagnostic lights blinking.
First plumber - leak and dead, recirculation pump cut its lifespan, $4k to replace or $8k for endless water
Second plumber - calcification of some sensor due to city's hard water before we installed a water filter system. Gas electronics can be replaced, ... . Tomorrow morning we will have a new waterheater and a recirculating pump.

Ordered PJs with jogger cuffs for MIL's birthday.

Time to call SO?
