What have you bought recently?

Wandered around the Bay and spotted two pairs of shoes in size 5. Usually they are a little too big. I hope these don’t stretch out. 30% off isn’t much but have to strike while the store still has some stock.
Saw a lady heading to the cashier with a duvet. While I was searching, she returned and said the sale price was $330 for the queen. We both said no thanks to that non-bargain.

I bought another microwave heatpad... I have an electric one.. but unless the pain is excrutiating that one is a bit of a faff to get out and plug in etc... so the little cotton covered heatpads are easier to use..

A pair of Sketchers. A somewhat similar pair of shoes just got too old. I think the uppers have a layer of PVC or something and it has dried and is flaking apart in corners where creases bend during walking. Nothing lasts forever and I can add those to my gardening shoes pile and let them get grubby while they last.

Annual house and windows wash. The fellows were highly efficient.

After discussing my DKNY nightwear on another thread, I did an Amazon search. Another brand kept showing up so I ordered one. It’s similar but not the same. If it works out, I’ll buy a second. My old nighties are showing wear - aka, a tiny hole or two. If it doesn’t work, I‘ll live with the natural ventilation.

Not a huge purchase, but had to run out to get new reader glasses. Went to pick up my only pair and one of the arms fell off. So, I went out and bought 3 pair at the Dollar Tree.
I've probably bought 3 packages X6 I keep misplacing the spares. Just end up with 4-5 soft cases cluttering up my area.. Need to attach a chain or something to the case. Like they do for service station bathrooms.

I bought 6 new causal pants to replace the thread bare ones I have now. The holes are starting to get more pronounced as I go along. Don't need the embarrassment associated with that. We don't need to talk about the stains either.

SO has a big play date starting Wednesday. Sunday he prodly presented the fact that his jeans fall down. Fun! I called the Western store I normally shop at, had my favorite and very knowledgable sales lady be ready for an unwilling customer. Four pairs of black jeans and three pairs of Wranchers in 15 minutes. The rest will come from the main store later this week. A problem is absolutely no Levi's.

Froo-froo shirts can wait until August so I have them beaded for October.

Langston's Western Wear - Cowboy Boots, Hats & Jeans

All washed and starched.

I keep about six pairs scattered around the house in specific places so I can always lay my hands on them. A pair lives in every vehicle (2 in the RV) and I keep 2 pairs in my purse, as well. They're compact, inexpensive lifesavers at this stage of my life.

Woke up yesterday morning, turned on the laptop and found that the 'Wheel' on my mouse no longer worked.
Put in new battery, reset mouse in Settings, still not working.
Thought to myself, no big deal since left and right buttons still worked.
After a while it drove me crazy and I was off to Best Buy for a new wireless mouse.

Food... that is meat specifically.. sent from Scotland.. and a Scottish butcher..

This is meat I can't get here in the stores in Southern England.. only available in Scotland, and some parts of the north of England...

Sometimes even after 50 years here in Southern England.. I still occasionally yearn from certain foods.. thank goodness for online butchers and bakers,,

It's just a strange thing, that we have eclectic food merchants in the uk as a whole.. from Italian, to Indian, to Eastern Euopean..Polish, Russian, Romanian, .. ..but there no Irish, or Scottish butchers or bakers outside of their respective countries.. and they are part of the UK, which is crazy

People say there's nothing you can't buy in London..... that's not true....

Food at three stores. When I went for a prescription in the morning, I bought some meat on sale. In the afternoon during an errand, to a different store for milk and few things. On the way home stopped in a specialty store for bread and ended up spending $55 for miscellaneous items.

Guess I could add a fourth store because I bought Life Savers. I often have one for dessert.

I received another blanket increase from one of our wholesale business-to-business vendors. 7% increase across the board. Another vendor bumped everything 6.5%. These are the effects of the 10% tariffs broadly instituted April 9th. Neither of these vendors do significant manufacturing in China. I'm dreading to hear from the two who do.

Consider me a canary in the coal mine - price increases will soon be evident at US retailers.
