Thank you Pappy! I shared the link with an older friend who might benefit from such an aid.
Thanks, Pappy. That looks ideal for those who can’t mount a bar in their tub area.
Got the pants on Tuesday, put on a pair Wed. Must have lost a little weight, looser fit.I bought 6 new causal pants to replace the thread bare ones I have now. The holes are starting to get more pronounced as I go along. Don't need the embarrassment associated with that. We don't need to talk about the stains either.
I’m so sorry this is happening. It’s going to put some small businesses out of business. I have bought everything I need for the next 4 years except for food, etc which I obviously can’t.I received another blanket increase from one of our wholesale business-to-business vendors. 7% increase across the board. Another vendor bumped everything 6.5%. These are the effects of the 10% tariffs broadly instituted April 9th. Neither of these vendors do significant manufacturing in China. I'm dreading to hear from the two who do.
Consider me a canary in the coal mine - price increases will soon be evident at US retailers.
Profiteering from media-fueled panic wouldn't exactly be untrodden ground.Lucky for me bedding plants and seeds are all "made" in America, but yanno what? It wouldn't surprise me if some of the increases in other things are spread around Home Depot's and Lowe's garden centers.
Yesterday I went shopping for clothes, and as always was exhausted after a half hour. I managed to buy a pair of navy blue pants and golden colored earrings. Since I'm short and somewhat chubby, it's really hard to find pants or even skirts--to fit them around my middle they have to be so big they are miles too long.
Have you tried rice in a sock. Its very economical and it conforms nicely to your body parts. You heat it up in the microwave.I bought another microwave heatpad... I have an electric one.. but unless the pain is excrutiating that one is a bit of a faff to get out and plug in etc... so the little cotton covered heatpads are easier to use..

What? You don't care for that mod verdigris look?I also bought some green and gold and copper nail polish to paint some jewelry and stuff. I dont use it for my nails.
try this...I bought a home Medicare Annual Test of mental acuity, memory, dexterity, patience, and perseverance.
You know, those tests the Doc gives you such as "draw a clock at 3:30" and other weird stuff like "sit in the chair, get up and walk over to the corner, turn around quickly, walk back and sit down again."
The Device
In this case, it masquerades as a "child's play tent" (which I bought as a sunshade for some portable outdoor gear sensitive to heating). Larger than I needed, but very similar and somewhat smaller products intended for my purpose can cost 3 times as much.

Cheap and flimsy, but this mini pop-up tent does the job. I'd used cardboard boxes (which heat up), umbrellas on their side (hard to secure against the breeze), etc. While this is not waterproof it offers enough cover for a light sprinkle of rain and has excellent ventilation.
The equipment I place inside is plenty heavy enough to hold the tent in place with no risk of blowing away.
The Geriatric Medicare Test
In the image above "fold size" shows the tent as it arrives zipped into its circular case.
Unzip the case, remove the tent, and unfurl it. The four egg-shaped loops of spring wire should pop it into shape with a satisfying fwoop.
Now, with no instructions (since none come with the device anyway)... try to figure out how to put it back into that case and zip it up, then do so!
Good luck with that.
BTW
This is a kids' play tent. Not great for pets. A cat or dog's claws will rip the thin fabric to shreds in no time. It is probably lighter-weight material than it even appears to be in the posted image.
Oh, I got it in there. But you'd need to try it to see that it isn't as easy as that video makes it look.try this...
Actually I do. Green is my very most favorite color. What? You don't care for that mod verdigris look?
one of the grandchildren probably would have done it fast....Oh, I got it in there. But you'd need to try it to see that it isn't as easy as that video makes it look.
But I'm sure practice makes perfect.
I beg to differ, I have my nails professionally manicured on a regular basis, and have them painted always with a shellac type of varnish, I can very much do D-I-Y and Gardening .. and have no damge to my nials.. in the garden gloves are the answer...Actually I do. Green is my very most favorite color.
But Im too much of a grubber to wear polish. DIY and gardening is hard on the nails.
Today its weeding and replanting and mulch. And I have some stone walls waiting for me to get to them.
So. I have to limit it to jewelry and small projects.![]()
Thanks for the reminder about capris--I used to wear them a lot, but I haven't seen them in stores lately. Maybe they're out of fashion? As if I care! I'll check out the Goodwill store near me.Im 5'10 so I have the opposite problem. I often buy petite pants at Goodwill to wear for capris.
Depending on how short you are maybe capris would work as pants?

The Bay (the store that‘s closing) had lots. They’re bringing in their pre-ordered goods. Macy’s often carries the same items with a different brand name. Thanks for the reminder about capris--I used to wear them a lot, but I haven't seen them in stores lately.
