Yesterday at the grocery store I scored red bell peppers for 99¢/lb and green ones for 79¢/lb. Will cut most up for the freezer.
This morning I picked up a Walmart order. Tip: their Progresso canned soups are on a HUGE sale right now. Most are $1 off, some $1.50 off, and Tomato Basil (which my husband favors) is regularly $2.50 and down to 78¢. I bought 13 cans, all told. Would have bought more but already had 6-8 in my pantry.
During cold months, DH or I will often add some veggies to a can of soup for a light lunch.
