What have you bought recently?

Yesterday at the grocery store I scored red bell peppers for 99¢/lb and green ones for 79¢/lb. Will cut most up for the freezer.

This morning I picked up a Walmart order. Tip: their Progresso canned soups are on a HUGE sale right now. Most are $1 off, some $1.50 off, and Tomato Basil (which my husband favors) is regularly $2.50 and down to 78¢. I bought 13 cans, all told. Would have bought more but already had 6-8 in my pantry.

During cold months, DH or I will often add some veggies to a can of soup for a light lunch.

I bought some walnut grips for my PPK/S.

Now isn't it a pretty little gun?

The Cordless 'scissors'' arrived today... they are fabulous, I have to tell you. They're not really scissors, but they're so easy to use to cut thick cardboard etc.... it was a pleasure to use them today.. and so much easier to use than scissors or a box cutter , because of the injury to my dominant hand..

It's so nice to find simple tools that make our lives easier, isn't it? :)

I posted this in the Cost of Living thread earlier today, but should have put it here:

Spent $215 at Costco yesterday. $40 was for gasoline, $25 for 5 lbs of Halloween candy, and $45 for some vitamins and OTC meds, $40 for two 2 pound bags of Peets coffee beans. So that was $150 right there and the other $65 was food.

DH really pushed me to buy a second bag of Halloween candy, but I resisted. Last year we didn't even get through the first bag and wound up eating the second bag over time. Don't want to do that again.

I might buy a box of Tootsie Roll Pops next time we go to Costco though. It's about $15 for 100 lollipops - and whatever's left can be added ta a traditional Christmas gifts I give to my kids & kids in law for their cars.

Also, I like lollipops, but am not tempted to eat a bunch of them at one sitting.

I dislike being a cheapskate but circumstances require it. Today I bought a Taylor Farms mini chopped Caesar salad at Walmart for $1. It contained chopped romaine lettuce plus sealeed envelopes of Caesar dressing, chopped croutons and grated cheese and it was quite delicious. I really like having salad for one!

I parted with $40 for 12 snapdragons and three pink guara. Snapdragons do well here in the winter, and the guara are perennials. The guara were from the Clarence shelves at one garden center, and the snapdragons were from the other garden center.

The first garden center we went to only had pink snapdragons at $4 each. Um. No! The second garden center had lots of colors to chose from at $2 each. Um. Yes!

They'll get planted tomorrow.

I bought a Newest gen Echo dot... ..to replace the 3rd generation I;ve had for a while.

the new one is navy blue to match on the side table next to my New Navy Blue velvet armchair

I also bought several Long sleeve V neck and square neck T-shirts.... as well..

...and a whole bunch of High end Festive chocolates, sweets and Biscuits to put away for Chritmas for my neighbours and the children next door.... which as they had just gone into the aisles were all 1/3 off the usual price...

The headache that buying a can of spray starch has caused. My wife was unhappy with the collar on the shirt that she's made me, the revamped collar would be shaped better with starch. It's available online but my lady wanted it today.
At one supermarket I was asked what did I want it for. Starch is for stiffening clothing, what did he think I wanted it for? The wicked thought of suggesting that the one eyed trouser snake needs a little help came to mind, but I bit my tongue.

He told me that I would be lucky to find any stockist, adding, nowadays men don't wear ties so they are not going to wear starched shirts. He had a point, but a lecture I didn't need. Eventually I found what I was looking for, about twenty miles from home. What a palaver!
