What have you bought recently?

How dare y’all call Merrells ugly🤣
I splurged and bought these Merrell hiking boots way back in 2015 for $109.95 (so says Amazon)…& just finally tossed them this very year. They still looked like new because they were so stinkin’ uncomfortable that i only ever wore them a handful of times. So all these years i just occasionally glanced at them & hoped a magical insert would come along to make them feel as comfy as they looked. Didn’t happen so fiiinally brought myself to bid them adios. But ugly? I think not!😂🤣😂

Mine were comfortable out of the box and still look good but I’ve used them so much that the bottom treads are wearing smooth.

You really wouldn’t like my Muck brand shoes either lol lol. I wear them outside for everything I do. They’re not cheap, but they are a little cheaper than the Merrill brand shoes.

I do have enough decency to not wear them to town🤠

they are acceptable for working outside in the garden.. they look like cut down wellies... and we have similar styles here for working outside in the mud... which is where merrels should be sent... :ROFLMAO:

That’s exactly what i expected but didn’t get out of my pair🙀

My current fave closed toe shoe is this lightweight/slip-on New Balance V1…..with the proper insert one doesn’t hardly know they even have a shoe on. They sure wouldn’t work for a NY winter but worth a look if ever you’re looking for some warm weather comfort.

I have a pair of New Balance for weddings and funerals. 😉🤭😂

I like the look of those!

I’m always a bit leary of slip on shoes, do they stay snug with regular use? 🤔

I have worn the snot out of these muck shoes. The only time I don’t wear them outside is when I’m mowing; I have a pair of side zipper leather Ariats that I wear on the tractor.

as far as the Muck brand shoes, I have only gone through three pair in 20 years. I wear them cleaning out the stalls, slogging in the mud to open gates, you name it they are on my feet if I am outside, which is a lot of the time.

They don’t stretch out. I buy size 8 because they don’t come in half sizes. even in the hot humid months, I wear very thick white socks inside them. They have always stayed snug. The only reason I toss them is if they get a crack in the sole(s), or I literally wear the treads off and there’s no traction because the bottoms are so slick. This Tennessee clay is every bit of slippery as Georgia Clay when the rains come lol lol

As I said, I am only on my third pair in 20 years. I get my $80 worth out of them believe me, although I think I might’ve paid 90 or $95 this last time. I buy mine at the local co-op store. 🤠🤠

Went to my produce store and Aldi Monday, mostly to replenish produce. Costco yesterday. Eggs were down to $2.69/per two dozen container! $1.35/doz!!! Looks like egg-laying chickens are back to full numbers after so many years of bird flu culling. Bought 4 dozen.

The egg bargain was a bright spot in a world where prices on most other groceries and household products continue their steady march upward. Needed the big bag of dog food, plus coffee, TP, some baking ingredients and random food items. Costco total: $255. As Tony Soprano would say, whaddyagonnado?

A storage ottoman for the foot of the bed. There is a bench there now but it's just for sitting, no storage. Also, my little dogs use it as a step to get onto the bed, which is the most important reason to have it.
Received the ottoman yesterday. Although I did check measurements and it is the size stated, it is too small. I may swap it out with the chest in the guest room.

Shame you're so far away.. I have a large ottoman, double storage the width of the bed... I only bought it less than a year ago.. it's in mint condition, but I'm going to have to get rid of it, because I've bought some new furniture which will need the space where the ottoman stands ( it's not currently at the bottom of a bed )

But, doesn't the rain in Spain stay mainly on the plain?
it certainly does... the ground is so rock hard it doesn't soak in....when the gota fria arrives, it's common to get a months' worth of heavy rain in a single day
