What have you bought recently?

So, I went to get some foodie bits from M&S and just happened to notice that Next had a sale on but, what a load of rubbish ...

Oh! hang on a little minute!

I just spotted a short sleeved cream top - is it a jumper? is it a tunic? I dunno but, it will go lovely in the warmer weather with a pair of my favourite leggings and, it's half price - just fifteen English pounds!

OMG! I needed to sit down for a minute; the assistant rang up the price ticket and it's ... unbelievably ... seven quid!! I can't believe how much money I have saved this week 😇

I have been a "shopping somebody" these past couple of weeks. Besides hittiing Costco twice and the Dollar Tree store, I bought a new shower head last week from Home Depot. Yesterday I picked up a couple of items from the supermarket and did a bunch of online shopping on Chewy, Amazon and Dollar Tree. From Chewy I bought a wave cat scratcher, pretty mylar crinkle balls and more cat food. I placed the order now to take advantage of the $15 cash back bonus using my BOA card. I bought another pair of petite sweatpants, packing cubes and squeezable, refillable lotion tubes from Amazon and a case of ammonia from Dollar Tree.com.

haha..you'd have saved more if you hadn't bought that top...:D

I could never figure out the rules for cricket. Watched some games on TV, but the announcers quite understandably didn't explain much. They presumed viewers already knew how the game worked and what the terms meant.

Same with rugby.
they are both my favourite Sports... I'm not a football ( soccer ) fan which is our countries National sport.. but I do enjoy cricket and Rugby..

I'm well versed in American football rules, but since all the info about CTE brain injuries has come out, I rarely watch games other than the Super Bowl. Can't enjoy it knowing these young men are risking turning their brains into mush.

I love softball and baseball at all levels including children's Little League, college and professional.

And they're all planted already. Spent $16. I'm ashamed of myself, but the flowers are pretty. Portulaca. They get big and fluffy and bloom all summer.

Every time I say I'm not gonna spend any more money, I spend anyway. This must stop. And it will when the garden is all planted. I have a list of plants I need want to get. When they've all been purchased and planted...

Good thing there are no little kids still living with me. They'd be shoeless and wearing too-small clothes with holes in them.

Donating is costing me too much. Dropped off more items yesterday and decided to try on a top that wasn’t my size. The clerks (volunteer) said it fit and I didn’t check the price tag. It was chicken feed compared to a retail store, still a little shocking considering I likely don’t have any place to wear it anymore. $30. It’s Vegas bling. If nothing else, I’ll just admire it in the closet.

Also got a red/blue patterned reversible cardigan. I rarely wear my red t-shirt but had it on yesterday, so it all worked. It still had the price tag. A major bargain for $10, an unneeded purchase because it’s too warm until next fall/winter.

I bought 3 tops... a white sleeveless cotton top... a black floral jersey top...and a red( more orange)... swing blouse... bought them at midnight last night, they were delivered at 3pm this afternoon...Not Amazon...all half price in the sale at Roman Originals..£42 for the 3

...the model on the left must be very tall because that black shirt is down to my thighs as is the white top

Some online sites tell you the height (5’10” is common) and size (usually small or extra small) that the model is wearing. Some will actually tell you the length. It’s stopped me from making a purchase. I’ve noticed that tops are much shorter this season, so I’ll have to pick up some basics, if I find them.

yes I've seen that on some sites but not with these ones I bought... doesn't matter tho' I'll have the black one taken up a couple of inches, and the white one will be fine as it is.. The sizing however was way out. The reviews on the red blouse said to order 2 sizes lower than usual so I did.. and it's still slightly too large. The black one is my normal size that fits, but is long... and the white is my normal size also.. and is slightly too tight.....and this isn't even a Chinese supplier as you might think.. they all came from the same High street store.. which is usually good quality ..and these are.. but the sizing is all skewed..

Went to the grocery store, spent 88 dollars. That is high for me but I was restocking on some things. I picked up an extra bag of dog food. Enough diet coke for a couple of weeks. Some thin cut eye of round to make swiss steak. A big box of corn dogs for the grandson and his favorite chips. Eggs, I think they were 3.72 for 18. Time to give the dogs their omelets with their heartworm/flea/tick medicine. Need to restock the freezer with french toast and pancakes, that will use quite a few.

The new lawn mower should be in this weekend. It is going to the Ace Hardware store over a couple of blocks. They will put it together and give me a run through on how it works. I got one with an electric start this time so if I have to mow I should not have a problem starting it. It is also self propelled. If all I have to do is push a button and walk behind it I can get it done if the son can't get over here to do it. That gives me piece of mind. It looks like a jungle right now. I used to love doing the yard work but these days I can't deal with the Texas heat. I did get some okra and yellow squash seeds so I need to get those planted soon.

I bought a desk fan online, after the 1 day "heatwave"here.

I think I may have jumped the gun as the weather is now much cooler, and this fan is surplus to requirements now.
Hi Meringue: Great minds think alike. I bought a desk fan only last week as my son was coming to stay. We have had heatwave weather too.
Spent 1 hour putting it together and it's in his bedroom. We have had a cold snap and the darn thing looks like it will spend its days in the wardrobe.

Speculate to accumulate @Georgiagranny :) (y)

I do all my shopping online but haven't bought anything interesting recently. The last delivery was the grocery shopping. I liked Amazon when they were a smaller company and delivered at regular times. I don't like the late night deliveries they do. I use eBay quite a bit for purchases.

I like all 3! My style.

I did finally get my hair cut yesterday! Finally.
I have 2 hair appts this month, ugh!
On the 6 th for highlights and made one for the 20th for a shampoo and blow out so I look nice for when my son and DIL come from Illinois for the engagement party.
This is an expensive month…Easter, a few birthdays and an engagement party and now 2 hair appt.

At least you'll be having fun and be with your family. You'll have a wonderful time!

Kudos for me. I didn't spend any money this morning before leaving work. Yay me.

DD and DGD want me to go shopping with them this afternoon. My feet are killing me, and I'm bushed. I think I'll decline with polite thanks...but they are going to my favorite store...stay tuned.
