What have you bought recently?

Planning to buy later on this July, as it's best time to get these items as most are on sales now.

A new swimsuit for daughter and one for myself as since we've cured our thyroid glands, we've lost much weight, so our old ones are to big and sagging lol!

DD and I went to Kohl's and spent not one cent of real money but came home with jeans and two tops for her, two tops and one new bra for me. Everything we got was on sale and her jeans and tops also qualified for an additional 50% off.

The cashier showed us how to take advantage of the Kohl's cash and still have $20 left!

I only bought one bra because there was only one in my size and none in white. I bought the one they had in nude and used the $20 Kohl's cash balance buying three more online in white. Paid real money for the balance.

wow, is this a first ?.. did we really read that Gigi paid Actual real money for something ?...can it be true ? 💵💵💰

I had someone get an iron for me, from Walmart, recently.
What is that? you ask?
:giggle::LOL:
It is lightweight and helpful, for sterilizing some fabric cloths, I use, and will be good for tiny sewing projects.....

Even though I can only do a small bit, I still want to have one on hand.

I also had them buy a touch-free thermometer, for me. It's great! So easy and quick, and stays clean.

Arm and Hammer Slide litter from Petco. From the sister store of my favorite thrift-consignment shop, I bought a grey denim jumper, a black lined skirt, both to wear in the house and a navy knit top. I also bought Crunch and Munch and along with other groceries I bought Saturday, I finally got more Starburst Pink (strawberry) liquid water enhancers. I bought 8 so they'll last me until the next Shoprite run. Amazon charges almost double what Shoprite charges.

I bought an electric can opener, very recently. It works great.
I can actually open cans of food, for the first time in many years, with it. (y)🤩
Make that decades.
:oops::rolleyes:o_O

You press down the top. The can lid does not have sharp edges. Does not drip the contents all over, either.

I am pleased about this!🥳

DH who is past 90, had been opening all/any cans, and was the only one between the two of us, who could. Now that he suddenly is becoming quickly and increasingly limited, this can opener is safer for him, too.

kaila that's excellent news... (y) which one did you get ?.. I have OA in my right hand and it's getting increasingly more difficult and painful for me to use a regular can opener, and I bought an electric one but it just didn't work very well at all...

HI, Holly....it's great to see you, today.
I am very happy with this one! And yes, it's excellent for me to find items that enable me to do a few more actions, successfully. I also think that many people might prefer this type, to the usual ones, anyway.

It's a Hamilton Beach, Smooth Touch.
The number on the box is :
76606ZF.

Does that make it easy to find?
It's very different from the other electric can openers; I didn't see any comparable designs in any other brands, though there might be one.

Frey Bentos chicken meat balls in gravy...on offer in ASDA!
when I was a kid , my mother rarely cooked, instead she would give us Campbells Beef meatballs , with boiled rice for dinner at least twice a week if not more... WE liked them well enough, ..but after I was grown I never had them again for years until one day I tried them again, and ewwwww..I was disgusted by the taste lol... ..I think they were withdrawn from sale eventually..and instead now I see these chicken meatball versions by Fray Bentos in the discount stores... not tempted to try it tho... :ROFLMAO:

I also see a number 76606ZA on the Material regarding the can opener. Not sure which of those I got, or what's the difference, or if the difference is possibly a surface thing and not the design.

There are two that are similar, and one has automatic shut-off, which is a great feature, but the one I got, is the easiest for the hands, and best for me.

Thanks Kaila.. that one is an American brand and therefore very expensive here.. and sadly has some bad reviews on Amazon UK... so there are some similar ones for sale which are UK made, so I'll have a look at those.. thanks for taking the time to let me know.. hope you and hubs are feeling better today.. 🤗

I recently purchased a gallon of unscented foaming hand soap to refill my dispensers. I topped off half full dispensers (wild black cherry and also a couple of lemon) with the unscented soap and gave the bottles a shake. Don't need new dispensers because the disposable dispensers have twist off caps so refilling was easy.

There's more than enough scent remaining to be pleasant, but not so much my hands need a second washing to rid them of the soap's perfume.

I'm sensitive to perfumed soaps, particularly when cooking or handling food. Who wants that perfume transferred to their food? Also, I hate adding these things to the landfills. Such a waste.

At $19.99/gallon delivered (Amazon), it comes to 15.5¢/oz. The least expensive foaming soaps (Walmart) are 28.5¢/oz and my preferred brand (JR Watkins) is 42.7¢/oz!

p.s. It also comes in scented versions.

That entire post, and the product, all sounds great to me, Star.:geek:

In addition, the wording of the following part amused me, while all true, too.:giggle:

A second washing.....to get the first off.....😁🙃☺️

And what would we use for the 2nd wash cycle? 😄😂

I ordered some lead testing swabs to test the old furniture I got, because when I was watching YouTube videos about how to dye or paint old furniture upholstery one of them mentioned doing it when they were going to rehab old painted furniture. Lead exposure hadn't occurred to me at all, now I'll wait until after I can test all the pieces before I spend the effort on the upholstery.

@StarSong , I do the same with my regular hand-wash soaps.. I have a large container which fills all the regular size containers.. saves a huge amount of money over the year.. /s.. in fact it so far has lasted me almost 3 years now...

I do have expensive Italian perfumed soap for my showering, I love the scent of those..

New sheets. There was a flash sale so they were 50% off. I buy a queen size fitted and a double flat. It costs a bit more than a set but is easier than dealing with a top sheet that slides off. They only have regular (too small) and king size (too big) pillow cases. Those will go back tomorrow. I’m going to look for some silk pillow cases.

I've been suffering with my right hand a lot lately, so I decided to buy a set of left handed screwdrivers off Ebay, they arrived today, but I think I'll send them back because they're exactly like the right handed ones I've already got. 😊

(Lightly) scented shampoos, conditioners and body soaps are an exception for me, too. I quite like them, plus they give the whole bathroom a lovely after-scent.
