What have you bought recently?

Today I went on a bit of a spending spree.. I bought.. a Haircut, style and blow dry ... got 6 inches cut off...

....then I bought a Gillet..in burgundy colour ( which is what I actually went out for)... and a Sleeveless Afghan style tan suede 3/4 jacket ( I'm really pleased with this)....

Then to TK Maxx.. and bought some lush scented soaps ( especially Jasmine) and shampoos

Then drove to the supermarket to buy the Thermos Flask which is the only other thing I went out for...

Tried to buy non-toys for coming up on 20 month old boy. Wow, aside from clothing buying is really hard for that age!

Gave up. Settled on some bathtub crayons, colorful plastic foam indoor/outdoor "stepping stones," and a toddler snow shovel with an adjustable length shaft. An only child with plenty of grandparents, I hate to pile more crap on him.

very sensible..

My daughter was the only grandchild for a while when she was a toddler.. and she got bought everything... far more than one child could use..

I frittered away perfectly good money on...Bob Evans prepackaged mashed potatoes. Two packages at $4.49 each and one only serves 4. Tuff. I'm not gonna spend hours peeling 5 lbs of potatoes, cook and mash them. I'm working Thanksgiving morning from 5-12 and refuse to come home and cook, too. Nope, nope, nopity nope.

You have been damaging your wealth Holly, so glad that I am not alone. I drove right across Dorset to Bridport to collect my new bespoke hat.

My blue blazer seems impressed, but my wallet might need time to recover.

Ordered a cookie scoop and some "greenies" chews for (rescue dog) Ozzy that should arrive today. After 15 months with us, he's finally comfortable enough to try chewing on things that he's not supposed to chew on, like wrappers and a plastic bottle cap, so it's time to offer him something that's safe and beneficial to him.

Baby step by baby step... He still has yet to bark.

Does the vet think the lack of a bark is physical or emotional?
Emotional. He was caged, hoarded and abused for the first year or more of his life. An ugly hoarding situation. Most likely wore a shock collar to discouraged barking, whining, etc.

I know he can bark because he'll sometimes yip or whimper in his sleep, but never when he's awake. He came to us as an extremely skittish, avoidant, essentially terrified animal who was characterized as "shy." Talk about an understatement...

He's not what we'd hoped for or expected, but we're doing the best we can with him. A big plus - there's not an aggressive bone in this dog's body.

He seems to look forward to our little grandson's days here and is extremely tolerant of him.

On Friday I bought a coat from the window of a consignment store. I wasn’t even going to go in, but decided I should just have a look. It’s not the least bit practical. It’s very ornate. It’s a rare item of any kind that fits perfectly so it came home with me.

Roses. A dozen yellow tea roses. For me! I have to walk past the floral department to get out of the store. The roses were there looking lonely and begging me to take them home. How could I say no?

I can't wear them or eat them, but they serve a quite useful purpose. We are very happy together.

Today I 'bought' £250 worth of dental work... £57 of groceries ( hardly anything, but I got a frying pan) .. £10 for the guy who put the bulb in my indicator light...
That's something that I do. We are off to Thursford Christmas Wotsit tomorrow, took the car to the regular garage that we use, slipped him twenty quid, he checked the tyre pressures including the spare, topped up the engine oil, the radiator coolant was okay but the windscreen washer bottle was all but empty. He also ran a diagnostic check by plugging the engine into his computer, all okay. £20 well spent!

I bought some kitty treats and some AA and AAA batteries at Walmart. They had some funny turkey hats for Thanksgiving, and I wanted one in the worst way...but they were $12. That's not much, but I'd have worn it one day at work tomorrow. One day. Nahhh.
