Guitar strings, I don't play as often as I would like but they must be changed periodically or the neck will warp.
I had no idea this would happen.

I change mine annually. Strings become brittle with age and wood is susceptible to changes in temperature and moisture. Keeping it in tune will help but new strings are more elastic and provide less tension on the guitar, or any stringed instrument.

I went a little too crazy on Black Friday + Cyber Monday, and I've bought a bunch of stuff, some of which I really have no current need for.

I bought a blue-with-white-clouds umbrella, a hair dryer even tho I never dry my hair (and no longer live where I need one to melt open a frozen door), a saucepan that may never be used but it just feels wrong to not own a single pot, a package of bold point pens because my eyes are getting too old to appreciate fine point pens anymore, cat vitamins, and the list of purchases just goes on and on.

I have 20 more days until my credit card cycle restarts, so I hope I can stay off Amazon and restrain myself at the grocery store for the next three weeks!

The rest of my Amazon order is supposed to be delivered today. According to FedEx, DS/DSIL's new bed is out for delivery. Yay. DS said sleeping on the old mattress is like sleeping on a chain link fence.

I haven't bought anything this week apart from groceries. That will all change on Friday though as I am going out with my girl pals for a pre-Christmas lunch :);)

My wife makes most of my clothes but occasionally I do use one or two favourite vendors. There's a company with the imaginative name of Chester Cordite, whom I met at one of the festivals we enjoy going to. They make some wonderful period style clothing, how I love their shirts. When my wife makes a shirt for me she will buy three yards of fabric, actually it's probably metres, but metric and I are just not compatible, truth be told, I miss pounds, shillings and pence, but today is what it is.

Where was I? Ah yes, three metres of fabric at £15 per metre. Two and a half metres of interfacing at £10 per metre, then there's £20 for the cost of the paper pattern, there's also thread and buttons and goodness knows how much the electricity is in her cabin, so all in, a conservative guess would be about: £150, for a hand made shirt. Chester Cordite somehow make beautiful shirts for half that. I am only hoping that they don't use what is euphemistically known as: "sweat shops," where the workforce endure long hours for low pay.

At a festival last summer, I was after one of Chester Cordite's shirts in a light coloured green stripe with white collar and cuffs. They were out of stock of my size. Yesterday I had a text to call them. They told me that the shirt that I had enquired about was back on the shelf but selling fast, was I still interested? Yes please.

Better still. They had just one left in Club Collar and one left in Spearpoint Collar. Together I could have them for £100. Sold, and not an Amazon label or reference in sight, that's got to be a first. Do you want to see my new shirts? The Club Collar is the rounded one.

The rest of the Amazon order came. Checked and everything is intact, nothing broken or chipped. Yippee.

The box was big enough for Maggiecat to take a little cat nap.

DS/DSIL's new mattress has been delivered. DS loves it already and was going to head to Amazon for new sheets and mattress pad.

Except for a trip to the credit union to get cash💲💲, my Christmas🎄 shopping is done. Yay.

I'm really hoping that Santa🎅 brings me electric socks🧦. The Hot Hands Toe Warmers work well but cost about $25 every six weeks or so. I can wash electric socks (after taking out the batteries🔋, of course).

Last evening I placed a quick AZ order for black sanding sugar. I have some, but will likely use it up on some cookies I'll be baking today. Will need more for people to use when decorating cookies. The order is scheduled to arrive today, which is fine because the first party is Saturday.

I swear to all that's marzipan that you live on Planet Victuals... all these intellectual sounding food ingredients...:D

DS sent me a picture of their little tree and DSIL's stocking (hung by the chimney with care). No stocking for DS? Hmph. I ordered one, and it'll be there on Wednesday. No? Stocking? Where does one put the lump of coal?

When I reordered my new boots in a half larger size, Amazon sent an email today that the new delivery date is the end of January. I cancelled the order.

Today I went for wax paper. They only had the generic brand. Guess I’ll be using that for a couple of years.
