What have you bought recently?

Something that the better strings of lights include is a spring clip as well as a pointy stake. That way I can use a four foot green garden stake, clamp onto that, and keep the solar panel up out of the snow.

I bought a spare string of larger white bulb lights so when my existing ones corrode in a couple of years I'll already have a replacement. Then when they are no longer made I'll still be ready.

In the meantime I can "steal" the springy clip for the Xmas lights!

Emotional. He was caged, hoarded and abused for the first year or more of his life. An ugly hoarding situation. Most likely wore a shock collar to discouraged barking, whining, etc.

I know he can bark because he'll sometimes yip or whimper in his sleep, but never when he's awake. He came to us as an extremely skittish, avoidant, essentially terrified animal who was characterized as "shy." Talk about an understatement...

He's not what we'd hoped for or expected, but we're doing the best we can with him. A big plus - there's not an aggressive bone in this dog's body.

He seems to look forward to our little grandson's days here and is extremely tolerant of him.
Oh Star, I just love you for taking him! ❤️

Wut wo. I spent way too much money. DD made me do it.

We went to the credit union which is right across the road from Kirkland's. I found a Christmas picture that lights up of a camping trailer for DSD. She and her DH are camping nuts, and they love anything camping related. Their camper is permanently parked at their campground, but it closes the first week of October and doesn't open up again until April 1. Now they'll have this cool picture to admire and to remind them that they can go back in about four months. Now I need a box of just the right proportions to mail it.

Also saw some things in there that DD liked a lot, but kinda pricey. I should get DSIL to take me in there so I can show him ideas for Christmas gift(s).

Then to WM for some stuff like kitty food/litter and other boring stuff. Also got three new flannel shirts and two new long-sleeve thermal shirts to wear to work. Yes, the bakery gets downright cold! Hate spending anything on work clothes because who knows whether I'll even be around long enough to wear them out. The shirts I got two years ago when I started there are getting a bit threadbare.

Oh. While at credit union, I "bought" some cash because I don't like using debit card for small purchases. Kirland was smallish, but WM was more than $100. There went the cash.

I should stop🛑 the spending💸💸. It's not helping me get to my EF goal:rolleyes:

A couple days ago, I moved bedroom furniture (yes...by myself). Hubby and I had twin beds for years because he had a bad accident in 2012 and shattered his left ankle. He had many surgeries and from then on he had involuntary muscle spasms in that leg so sleeping together was difficult to rest.

So, since he passed away in October, I've been thinking about putting the queen size bed that was in the guest room and putting it in my room and taking down the twin beds and putting them in the guest room. I needed a queen size bedspread so I ordered one and what a disappointment that was. It's as thin as a pancake! I guess I'll keep that for the summer months and get a different one for this winter.

@Colleen, I understand. When my husband was ill we could no longer share the same bed. He was on oxygen and I had to wrap his arm every day for lymphedema. It was like a tree limb. He would thrash about and hit me with that arm. Finally came to the realization I had to sleep in another room to get any rest. We had a baby moniter so I could hear him if he needed me. Our son worked late night shifts and would check on his Dad when he came home to make sure he was resting well.

Funny thing is I still sleep in the other room. It is a smaller on suite and I just feel more comfortable there instead of the big master.

We've had deliveries of kitchen items for daughter's new condo .. lots of neat stuff that I wouldn't mind having, but, already have everything.
I feel the same. And many times I think to myself, "How many more years will I have the desire or stamina to cook or bake as I do now?" Then come to the decision that I can manage with what I already have on hand.
Oh Star, I just love you for taking him! ❤️
Thanks Rose. A lovely moment yesterday - he stayed still when toddler grandson went to pet him. Can't say Ozzy-dog leans into anyone petting him, because he doesn't, but he rarely tolerates anyone besides DH and me to do so.
I should stop🛑 the spending💸💸. It's not helping me get to my EF goal:rolleyes:
What's an EF goal?

Yanno how I said yesterday that the spending has to 🛑?

Yeah. Well I forgot that every year I give DSIL a Farmer's Almanac just for fun. And then I saw this cool drone-like ball that spins and flies and hovers and stuff and can be recharged on a USB port on the computer and, well, you know how that goes. I mean, it's really cute so into the cart it went. DS and DSIL will have fun playing with it.

I only spent less than $40 and the delivery is free. Free is good, right?

Two packs of Dr Schools socks for diabetics. Great soft material, a style I like and fit shoe size 4-10. I must remember to write them and say the sizing is wrong. They’re huge so I returned one pack. I’ll donate the 3 pairs that haven’t been worn.

Really disappointed to do another return. I ordered another coat for really cold weather from Eddie Bauer. It arrived today and I can’t even close the front. My other one is a MP which is really bigger than needed and this is SP. You’d think the same company could be consistent with their sizing. $10 fee to mail it back.
I won't buy anything online that has a return fee. And you're right, they should at least have consistent sizing. Sorry you didn't get what you wanted Jules.

I totally understand the store’s policy. It’s enough of a disincentive to stop people ordering too much, just because they can. It costs them at least $10 each way to mail it. If there was an EB store near me, I could do a return for no charge.

Too much stuff! Besides groceries for me, cat food, a liquid vitamin for Deja, more corrugated cat scratchers, a pair of gloves that were on sale at Costco, wrinkle releaser spray and bulk clear plastic 8 gal. trash bags.

Today I bought cranberry juice. Store brand to get the 10% discount. Woohoo.

All kinds of deliveries expected today. It's going to be a real challenge to keep my paws off that spinning drone-ball.
