What have you bought recently?

Didn't buy anything but I put one item on my Amazon shopping list. Haven't made up my mind yet.

We have a canned Broccoli Cheese soup here in Canada under the brand name Tim Horton's. It's delicious. Way better than I could make myself at home. It's restaurant quality stuff (y)

Your soup looks absolutely delicious @hollydolly ! I see that thick slice of cheese too.

Obviously much better that anything from a can. That noted, Progresso for we that don't cook, does make some decent soups they regularly seem to be tweaking given their competition with Campbell Soups. I never buy any food containing MSG, something most soup makers tend to use. Safeway supermarket delis do make delicious thick fresh broccoli cheese soup.

I would have given you my electric blanket if you were nearby. Brand new and I never liked it. I use a microwavable bag and when it’s really cold I pull out the hot water bottle.

For some last minute items, I went to a higher end grocery store thinking I would avoid the crowds. Wrong, though another customer said she’d just come from another store and it was packed and out of some items. Four items cost $22.

Thanks Jules:)). I got in and out as fast as I could and I wore a mask because don’t want to make people sick. Since I have gotten older if I get sick I have trouble getting warm. I had the heat on 81 and a huge pile of blankets and was still cold. Now with the electric blanket I put the heat on 74 and comfortable.

That's exactly how covid affected me ! Could not get warm regardless of how many blankets.. I felt like my whole body had frozen to the core... horrible.

Holly, it’s such a horrible feeling not being able to get warm. Actually the 3 covid vaccines each made me sick for 4 days with horrible chills so I quit getting them. The electric blanket did the trick on high with 2 quilts on top. My 2 little dogs are awesome snuggle buddies and never left my bed.

Several years ago California regulated away throw away plastic bags at retail stores so everyone began using more durable bags. I got some cloth bags for free that have since disintegrated or become lost.

I have a pile of cheap wired earbuds from various audio products bought over decades and 3 old beat up uncomfortable to wear now over the ear headphones, so decided to get something modern, soft, to use about my home. The above nicely has 2 cords one short and another coiled 10 feet long. The amazon feature that shows how many others have bought specific products is yet another way online besides ratings and feature lists to understand if a product is worthwhile. This product has sold 90k.

My old bathroom scale's internal battery finally went out but cannot be opened or replaced so ordered the above that is much lighter, less bulky, far more accurate, and functional.
 
I stopped in my local thrift store on my way back from town.
Hmm well kept secret is that it is an excellent day to shop there. For one thing it was very quiet. A few ladies like myself. A man by the books, reading.
Super duper deals going on. I spent $33 and came home with many wanted items.
I usually don't buy shoes at thrift but there was a pair of Vionic sneakers, new, my size for $18 after the sale. I tried them on, and they fit perfect. I can't see anything wrong with them.
I was going to be buying a fat separator at Amazon for $25. I found a new Oxy brand for 94 cents after 30% off the sale price.

Yeah, made a second purchase today on Christmas Eve but not from Amazon but rather the Eddie Bauer website. Of course many retailers have deep pre Christmas discounts that tend to end today. Item was on both websites however the EB site offered this preferred mineral green color versus a dark storm color. $70 at half price, a $70 discount. As a small thin person that skis and easily becomes cold, I have plenty of coats, outer layers, base layers and mid layers for combination layering. In fact, have a similar much less expensive polyester fill puffer top. A few weeks ago bought an expensive 800 goose down fill down mid layer pant bottoms in an olive color so have been looking for complementing puffer down tops.

Much slimmer looking than some of the big "puffy" jackets. Nice.

My daughter buys all the following years'.. Christmas cards and decorations et al.. for the exact reason you state , because they're all reduced in price by so much
