What have you bought recently?

I just bought a pair of jeans off Amazon and I'm a bit worried. First off I never buy clothes online because I'm piticular about fit and quality and don't want the hassle of returning things. But sadly my favorite pair of jeans have become faded and now a small hole is developing in the knee, and I can't find the same style in the store. I also can't find the exact style on Amazon so am taking a chance with the same brand with a discription that seems to match mine.

Real world problem, right?

The phone recorder is interesting. I used to have to time myself for a live radio show I was on for many years.
I used the recorder in older Windows but have never tried it in Windows 10. if there even is one in Win 10----

If I interviewed a guest speaker , we would talk by phone on the subject , the day before the show, but if I had to do the show with call ins and just our producer, on it, that is when I needed to time myself.

We did a few shows on Gotomeeting and Skype years ago and the producer would call me via phone just before the show started and then he would look at the time and say ' OH, we are on video tonight, so I better comb my hair and put my teeth in!"

Ran out to Walmart to pick up a few items as we are expecting a winter storm first of the week. Everyone had the same idea, as the store was packed. All lanes open, the self check and the human ones.

Just the routine milk, popcorn, dogfood, and so forth. Needed potatoes and celery again for soup making. I have really been enjoying the beef stew I made a few days ago. I even used a small warm bowl to trick the little dog into a nail trim LOL.

I think I will make a small lasagna next. I picked up a loaf of italian bread from the bakery for garlic toast. I am really looking forward to the cold weather. Night time temps are supposed to drop to the tens.

Guess I better get out in the yard and put the new faucet covers on.

I had completely forgot about this thread!! I have bought a lot and mostly necessities for Suzy and I. Just got a cloth dryer rack. I put it in the tub and washed out some socks and undies. I like it. I've wanted one of these for a good long time and finally spent the money on it which was about 30.00.
Here is the link to see it: Amazon.com

I always have a drying rack for my clothes that I don’t put in the dryer. My last one lasted 20 years. This time I bought a metal one instead of a wood one.

I've bought used, excellent condition jeans on eBay, specifying the exact brand, style and size.

I squandered $22+ on ground round and veggies to make veggie soup. Squandered! It's brewing on the stove right now, and I'm getting impatient for it to be done because I'm hungry. Not quite hangry yet but getting there.

Also "bought" $100 in change when checking out because I was fresh out of cash except for $5. I get nervous when there's no cash in my wallet or in any of my hidey holes in the kitchen.

I make sure I have at least $5 in singles on me too. Parking ramps for my doctors are free for 2 hours but then I need $1 to get out if I go over.
Do you still have $1 notes ?.. we've not had any £1 notes for many years..since they introduced £1 coins... but even then, there's hardly anything we can buy with a £1 any more. My mother would roll in her grave...

Yes we do. Even pennies are still a thing.

A lot of the parking gate boxes will accept card micropayments but most still accept $1 and $5 bills but don't make change.

We have legal tender $1 coins of various kinds yet, but few use them today and most merchants will give you the stink eye if you present them for payment. It would be a rare vending device of any type that accepts those.

yes we have pennies, and 2 penny coins as well as 5 penny coins, and 10 penny coins, as well as 50p coins... but try buying anything with those coins these day.. and I feel it's a ruse to get rid of those coins, and eventually everything will cost a round ££'s price...

Nickels and dimes are a nuisance. If I end up with some, I give them to my husband. He was saving his and would buy a $1 scratch ticket. I thought I’d miss pennies when they were removed; I was very wrong.

What I don't like about dimes is the self check out and parking meters (which I rarely need to use) will eat the light pesky things without giving credit at times. I've stopped putting change in self check out right now.

Hadn't ordered anything from Amazon in close to a month. Found out yesterday we need more dry markers, so I ordered a set of those with different colors. My son picked up a bulk box of Splenda packets and 3 pack of whipped cream from Costco for me today. Splenda box only has 1,000 packets. The last box I got had double that.

Correction: Last box of Splenda only had 1,200 packets. I don't know why I was thinking it was 2,000! Still I wound up paying more for 1,000 than I paid for 1,200. I hope Costco has them on sale during the next cycle, which should start at the end of the month. We have 30 days to get a refund on the difference if they do go on sale.

I didn't know that!
