What have you bought recently?

Correction: Last box of Splenda only had 1,200 packets. I don't know why I was thinking it was 2,000! Still I wound up paying more for 1,000 than I paid for 1,200. I hope Costco has them on sale during the next cycle, which should start at the end of the month. We have 30 days to get a refund on the difference if they do go on sale.
I didn’t know that either. Unless it was a significant amount, I wouldn’t stand in that line.

Well, the line depends on when you go. My son is likely to go after work and sometimes that's about 1:30 p.m. (he has to be at work at 4 a.m.). There are not many people in there during the week at that time. Even when we had no choice but to go on the weekend, we are there a little before they are supposed to open (sometimes they are already open then) and the return line isn't bad at all. Of course, he doesn't make a special trip just for the return. He'll also do our shopping for the month. BTW there are three Costco warehouses in our area, so it's not like people have no choice but to go to one location.

I didn't spend any money today and won't tomorrow even though Rocking Chair Money will be in my account tomorrow, but it's still going to be too darned cold to go anywhere. When it's a little warmer on Thursday, DD is going to take me to Walmart. There's a list as long as my arm🦾

I have a list going for six stores: Aldi, BX(base exchange) , Walmart, Commissary, Health Habit, and Dollar Tree.
I'm not foolin' around!
I get it, I also have many retailers I use. It is something I check weekly to be able to keep a wide variety of foods that I could not just go and buy on a whim. Grandson and DIL were over last weekend. Grandson went straight to his cabinet and the spare fridge for his shopping. Hopefully, I am teaching him well when he goes shopping with Grandma. The son has finally figured it out and it has saved them enough money to take driving trip to Disney on Spring Break.

I ordered leather cleaner polish. The place we bought our furniture no longer carry the original brand. The one they have now is $60. Ordered the same thing from Amazon for $40. As I write these numbers, my head is spinning. This is ridiculous. It’ll last a couple of years, but….

Moving to a higher-cost prepaid phone plan, with data. Changes to "texting" beyond SMS requires Internet access. So instead of $100/year it'll now be about $240. Other advantages though if I use them, like talking every day instead of just every other day. :ROFLMAO:

I shudder to think what others pay without even blinking though.

Didn't spend any money yet but have transferred paycheck to savings. This afternoon will be a different story; I expect Walmart excursion will cost a buncha money 💸 💸

I always know when my checking account will be infused with cash because of your head's up each month! ❤️ 💰

Other than groceries, household supplies and gasoline, I haven't bought anything since Christmas. Amazon is probably wondering where I've been hiding.

On the other hand, this month's natural gas (heating) and power bills will be high because the heat's been running most of the time. We keep it at 67° and only heat the areas we're occupying, but even so...

In addition, we'll soon be facing a large income tax bill in addition to the quarterly estimated taxes we've paid throughout the year. Last winter, Hubby turned 70 so he moved from getting half my SS (spousal benefits) to maximum benefits against his own earnings record.

Both of our SS benefits plus a good year for our business means ponying up to Uncle Sam and the State of California. When we see the figures we'll decide whether to close the business in Dec 2024 or continue on at least through 2025.

Our customers have been so loyal that we want to give them 9-12 months notice.

I'm home with my pocketbook $87.20 lighter. >sigh< I did manage to get everything on my (very) long list except tart cherry juice. I'll get that tomorrow at work. This was real money, not the kind that empties the checkbook. So now I need to also buy more real money tomorrow when I get the cherry juice.

It's a good thing I don't want or need anything frivolous, like clothes or more solar lights for the garden.

It's also a good thing that I've been hoarding garden center gift cards for when spring rolls around (only 61 more days!).
