What have you bought recently?

Rant ahead.

I spent about $40 this morning on groceries and am trying not to be ticked off about it. Every month I give DD a substantial check to cover a guesstimate of what I use in power and water and also to contribute to the cost of groceries. It seems that more and more often when we shop for food, I'm paying for the items that I put in the cart.

My monthly contribution should easily cover at least half of what groceries *should cost for all four of us. Along with that contribution, there's also my Kaiser food card of $150/quarter to help with the cost of healthy food like produce and no-fat/low-fat/low-sodium/no-sodium/no-sugar/no-added-sugar things.

Rant over.

Please reassure me that I'm not being a beeyotch and have a legitimate gripe. >le sigh<

*should: because she buys a lot of prepared food, precut veggies, bottled water (I don't drink bottled water), stops almost daily at the drive-thru to get whatever (when she asks if I want anything, I decline with polite thanks), so what she budgets for "groceries" each week doesn't last the week.
Not fair, it seems like someone is taking advantage of their mum...

@hollydolly I really don't think she's given it a moment's thought. That is, it hasn't occurred to her what she's doing. I brought it up (very carefully and tactfully) a couple of weeks ago, and she got really annoyed because "my" additions to the cart were merely a half gallon of milk and something else that I can't remember. Anyway, only a couple of dollars, but I kind of round-about suggested that if I buy things that aren't on her list, maybe just reduce the amount of the check I give her each month. Keep in mind that when I cook, I cook for all of us...

I think I'm just going to start giving her a list to pick up for me when she's going to the store.

I buy everything online. Groceries, yarn, clothes, bedding etc. I really hate to shop in any store anywhere! It probably takes more time to buy online. I do a lot through Amazon and I love their service. Get food through Instacart and have only been disappointed once. I don't like a lot of people around me and I hate waiting in line to pay for food, drag it home and haul it in.

Bought a dozen Corelle bowls that I’ll share with DIL. She likes this style. <$5.

A black vest with some textured butterflies. I wear a lot of vests in the winter. A Frank Lyman skirt for spring to fall. Total was $10. There were a few other things that appealed to be, but they were definitely for summer, so I put them back on the rack.

I can't remember what a vest is in the uSA... but a vest here is this....

Lightweight clogs in black. Looks like they will have to take the place of my black slippers because I can't find any in that style (rubber slides with 1-1/4 inch sole) that are wide enough. I got the idea because I have had Quarks clogs, that weigh next to nothing , for decades and they are so comfortable. I ordered from Amazon a few days ago but the order is not expected to be in until October 1st.

We stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things, including refills for the Swifters. Left without them. They’re over $13 for ten, or maybe it was eight. I’ll watch for a sale. Also didn’t buy the liner bags for the small compost bin; they have an added scent.

I did buy the clementines and mushrooms that I went for.

@Marie5656 I couldn't live without my long-handled duster. It's how I reach the cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings and the blades on the ceiling fans, not to mention the baseboards without having to bend over.
yep same here... dusting is a breeze with those.. anyone who hates dusting should get one.. it take minutes to go through the house.

I have about 6 different ones, I've even got one in the car..the great thing being that they're telescopic..

I use a pillow case on the ceiling fan, just slide it over the blade to wipe the dust off and throw it in the wash. Keeps all of that yuck from falling to the floor. The base boars just sweep them with the broom and when you vacuum you pick up all the dust. Not my ideas, taught to me buy others.

I bought an IPad Version 6 from Amazon. We travel a few times a year and I'm tired of watching videos on my IPhone. I really just needed something for that and playing word games. It has been discontinued due to an upgrade, so it was $139 with a discount. I can watch Netflix, Apple+, etc. shows on it and listen to music on it. I was at the tire shop the other day and watched a couple of shows on Apple+.

Occasionally I will access email or financial sites on it. It's instantaneous. Not like my Mac. That's all I need.
