What have you bought recently?

We bought a highchair 12 years ago when oldest GS was born, but after getting the above, we only broke out the HC when eating in the dining room. (My DR chairs swivel and rock, so they're not a good option for very little children, even with a chair insert.)

@StarSong, "Leapling"....how cute. Never heard that before. DGGS is also a leapling, born Feb. 21.
 

I have just bought a new Chromebook. The young man in the store tried hard to persuade me to buy security for it, which a Chromebook doesn't actually need. He got quite angry when I explained that the new one was replacing an old one and I was quite familiar with them, thanks very much.
This isn't the first time that a shop assistant has tried to take advantage of an old lady.
 
I found a pair of bronze flats for $2 at the thrift shop yesterday, to wear with the "wine-colored" long dressy dress that I found at the same shop for $12 a few weeks ago. I'm wearing flats because I'd be making a trip to the ER at some point in the evening to get my broken ankle casted.

Why a wine-colored dress, which is def not my color? Well, it has been decreed that all the ladies at the wedding wear either wine or dusty rose, so as to present a "color pallet" for the photos. I'd prefer dusty rose, but wasn't willing to spend a couple hundred at David's Bridals for a strapless satin bridesmaid gown to match the other "flower girl". Yes, at 77, I'm finally going to get to be a flower girl for the first time!

I'm going north next week and my flight back won't get me in on time to attend the bachelorette party (hen night for you Brits). A bar-hopping party which will probably include someone being dropped off at the ER for alcohol poisoning. I'm crushed, of course....absolutely crushed.
 
Only got a head of broccoli. There were few vendors today. Too bad. Last time I saw a red cabbage that I wanted and I decided to wait until this week. They’re finished for the season.

Thursday I bought a good quality sunscreen and separate foundation. Usually I just wear tinted sunscreen. Not sure if I’ll like this new procedure. Extra work and I don’t look any different, not that I expected to.

I’m guessing you decided not to downsize to an apartment. Those chests look great.
 
Food. The grocery stores must depend on me. 🙃 My little cart of $100’s worth wasn’t too many things. The folks in the other lines had large carts that seemed to be overflowing. I wouldn’t want their totals. JMO, I don’t feel very sorry for the grocery stores, no matter what they say about having minimal profits.

I am happy to have a good supply of squashes. No purple cabbage to be found.

I missed that update. I think it also didn’t have laundry which is a big deal. My condo has a laundry room and even using that is a pain. Luckily they allow you to install apartment size washers and dryers.

Some with bigger condos installed them in their second bathroom or master closet neither of which I have. However, I could put it outside my bathroom in the hallway and the plumber put hookups through the wall and tapped into the bathroom sink for water. The dryer is in my guest bedroom.

I decided to buy instead of rent because I don’t want to have to move and also it’s much cheaper as rents are high here. Plus being able to change things to suit me is important. I have no idea if condos are a thing in your country.

yes rents are masisve here and it leaves you vulnerable to the landlord whims...

No most apartment buildings here don't have laundry rooms. Most of us have washers and dryers in our kitchens. One of the problems with that Apartment was the kitchen was tiny, and not enough room for a dryer...but it was also very dark in real life.. middle of the day as I was viewing the lights had to be on..

We have loads of different types of flats and apartment buidlings but I have asked on here and can never get staight answer to what a condo is...

Oh I'll try and find my post about viewing the flat... hang on...

I was in Kansas for a week visiting family so missed it. My DIL’s parents in Poland have a washer in the kitchen but no dryer because of the cost of electricity.
 
@BeefStu I don't need a thermometer for my front porch because...I don't have a front porch ;). I do, however, have a teeny, tiny patio outside my back door. It's south facing so gets sun all day long, and in summer, I really don't wanna know what the temp is.

@Alizerine I love pansies, and they're winter flowers here, too, but the critters just won't leave them alone so what I end up with is a lot of foliage. I have no idea what others do to keep the little beasts away.

I didn't spend any $ yesterday because we were occupied all day with cleaning out half the garage. Today? I'll "spend" a buncha $ for our trash picker-uppers as a tip for taking all the cr@p we added to the usual pick up of just two trash cans.
