What have you bought recently?

I wish my dad would use the glasses I got him for Christmas.
He sits in the armchair and falls asleep with his glass in hand and drops it in his sleep. Water all over the floor. Quite often.
The ones I got him have lids, with a drinking spout on the side. But he's not into change, so I continue to hear the glass drop out of his hand, sometime from midnight to three am. 🤷‍♂️

Well let's see I just purchased today on Amazon a dash cam, a oxygen meter finger clip and a oxygen concentrator (battery operated)

The interesting thing is that they can do a high of 93% of pure oxygen just by grabbing and filtering the air around us, but if I wanted medical grade oxygen, then I'd have to get a prescription.

The reason for the oxygen concentrator, is mainly because having suffered from covid. If I walk 50 ft I am out of breath and I'm going to give it a shot and see if this helps me in those moments.

If it does, then yes I'll probably be buying more stuff to use for some interest that I have, which I can't do it this time because I couldn't physically carry out and carry the items that I'm thinking of buying.

you got an oxygen concentrator on amazon? if so can you please provide a link? 93% isn't much. how bad is your breathing?

Considering medical grade oxygen is 99% pure and so this filtering out to the point of 93% with no tanks is pretty damn impressive.

As stated above I can go 50 ft and then my breathing becomes rather difficult and I'm left gasping at times or I have to stop to catch my breath.

I did go to the doctor and have a spirometry test, however they walked so slow I didn't register any major drop and plus I had already used my inhaler to enhance my lung abilties.

So they wouldn't refer me to pulmology and so I'm rolling the dice on this ($290) and hoping it helps. It's not for everyday use, but only when walking.

Yippee. Amazon must have got wind of my being mad at them. The potassium came about a half hour ago. I trotted right out and mixed it up and used it on four of the guara plants. Too hot to do more. Maybe later or not until tomorrow morning. It's cooler in the morning.

Geez. Instructions say apply weekly during spring and summer. Weekly? Who the heck can afford that?

It says on the video it provides 99% oxygen at 6 liters. The spirometry test is sitting down. I would tell them that it's when you're walking faster. Do you by chance have sleep apnea?

Yes it does say that for about 15 minutes. I'm afraid I'm going off a previous item, which claimed a 93% concentration, I hadn't watched the video till now.

I think they were looking more for how much oxygen was staying in my bloodstream when I did the walking test. I have had a spirometry test before also a PFT.

I do use albuterol and spriva. If this doesn't help, I'll just resign myself to getting a electric mobile device.

I do suffer from sleep apnea also, but not medically checked.

You should have the sleep test done and get one. It helped increase my lung function after using it. My lung function was at 42% before the cpap. Also they have other medications but a visit to the pulmonologist would be helpful. You may have to tell them you'd like a referral. Sometimes you have to be your own advocate.

I don't know that is the best model for you. You are such and active guy. I think you need one like my husband had. It was portable in the way it was able to be taken anywhere he went. It was in a black bag with a strap that he just put over his shoulder. used anywhere in the house and be taken with him everywhere. It allowed him to keep working, travel, live a normal life. Push that doctor to get you one.

A food processer off E-bay. It was in poor shape so the seller gave it to us for free. He paid the shipping cost also...he was more than fare.

I used to like to look at the "for sale" section in the daily newspaper. ( i know, that was another lifetime ). Buying items from owners, is an adventure. :)

No I'm not very active that's why I'm buying it. I admit that this is just a risk that I'm taking but the price is so low, that is easily dismissed out of my budget. I mean, frankly I have won and lost five times that amount in a day, so I'm not bothered by failure of such. I'm willing to try various things to help me survive.

I actually bought 2 tops online yesterday which arrived today... to replace the clothes they cut off me in the ambulance which were brand spanking new on, that day...

other than that , except for having groceries delivered, and spending money on Uber cab fares to and fro the hospitals, , I have not spent any other money

Today I purchased a 2025 Hyundai Kona to replace my 13 year old Chevrolet Colorado.

Only time will tell if it was a smart move but I’m just not ready to give up driving, YOLO.

I can’t really classify it as a need but I still have a few places to go, people to see, and things to do! 😉🤭😂
Congratulations on your brand new car, Bea. May it last another 13 years at least; may it always give you good service and keep you safe.

Enjoy yourself with a nice road trip soon. :D 🚗

After my last wardrobe declutter, I decided that I couldn't possibly, ever again, justify spending one more penny on clothes.

I was slaying my spending hiatus and growing richer by the day ... until ... I went to do some shopping and noticed that they had a sale - everything was half price or less!

Two pairs of linen trousers and four tops later, I walked out of that shop with not one iota of remorse. Justification? Ask not what I spent, ask what I saved ;)
