I'm waiting for this newly released Sigma zoom lens to become available for Sony mirrorless APS-c e-mount cameras like my a6700. A 17mm to 40mm zoom is equivalent to 25mm to 60mm full frame. I own 3 expensive, sharp, prime lenses plus a mediocre 19mm prime and a mediocre 16 to 50mm kit zoom, I wish to replace because I create highly detailed large images that I'll exhibit on large 8k pc monitor displays when they become available. I'll have to do some testing, but it may also replace my superb 30mm DC DN prime.

The above lens is being expensively priced at $919. In the past, for DSLRs, fixed primed lenses have nearly always had higher optical resolution and fidelity versus zoom lenses. But recent lens testing shows this carefully computer designed lens, incredibly breaks that limitation at all its focal lengths.
